OSU goalie with a great stop on Wiebusch on 2 on 1.
Another Buckeye PP as Van Olm is in the box.
Killed the penalty and now a Pp for the boys in blue. Nothing doing on the PP and gave up a shorty breakaway and another just after even strength. Fortunately Reidler stopped both.
Katzin just gave the goalie a shave ice and got two minutes in the sin bin for unsportsmanlike. Ugh.
Penalty on OSU ends their PP. 4 on 4 for 90 seconds then a short man advantage for us. Still not a lot of offense. Shots 14-7 in OSU favor. End 1. Let’s hope for their usual second period surge.
Brutal, another penalty. Killed it off, and now a PP for PSU. Sin bin has been busy. Terrible giveaway on PSU leads to OSU breakaway. Under review for goal. Taking forever… Annnnnd a good goal. Just brutal play tonight by the Lions…. Annnnd Guy challenges for goalie interference. … stay tuned. Annnnd overturned for goalie interference. Refs are a clown show. Miss the puck crossing the line and miss goalie interference.
Boarding on OSU results in another PP. Fink took a good shot. Some good chances, but can’t solve Eberly. Playing much better in second period. Just have to break the seal.
Penalty on OSU, and under review for major. Stay tuned. Ruled a minor cross check. Two more minutes for PSU to get the motor started.
GOOoOoaoaoaoaoalllll! Wiebusch, I believe fed from either McKenna or Mac. 2-1. The comeback has begun! (And the goal was scored amid chants of “overrated” from the OSU folks.)
Lions strung together several good shifts. They’ve carried play and momentum since scoring. Shots 23-21 in favor of PSU. A strong period, and a nice point blank chance near the end of the period just wouldn’t settle on the stick. 2-1 heading to third period.
Early PP for PSU. Here’s a chance to tie it quickly. Not much in pressure on the PP. Since it’s been awhile for us out of the box, Smith decided to go in. OSU PP upcoming. Killed the PP, still trail 2-1. After shaky opening period, Lions playing much better.
GOoOoOaoaoaoaoalllll! Dane Dowiak cleans up a rebound for the equalizer! 2-2!!!! Shockingly, under review for high stick earlier in zone. Another review taking an eternity. Ugh. But the goal is upheld!! Tie game!! 8:55 to go.

PP for PSU, under review for major on PSU….6:06 to go. Minor assessed, but Wiebusch hooks and Pp over. Annnnd a trip on Dane means a PP for OSU. 4 on 3, stoppage, now 5 on 3 for 11 seconds. Save by Reidler, and a scrum ensues. Crespo and a Buckeye escorted off for minors.
Just as penalty expired, huge pile in front of net, buckeyes couldn’t slam it home. 2:53 to go.
Icing, 2:19 to go. Buckeyes pull goalie, then they ice the puck. Goalie back in. 1:15 to go.
Tripping to halt empty net breakaway puts PSU on PP with 49 seconds to go. And that’s a W folks!!

They’re not a very good “team,” at least right now. Mostly terrible starts and poor goaltending by the presumed #1. They have a lot of similarities to the football team.
They’re also a totally undisciplined team; already three penalties in the first period. As of last week, they either were the most penalized team or one of the most penalized teams in the country.
I don't think that was what was called. The butt of the PSU player's stick hit the GK in the neck or helmet, and that usually gets called. It was unclear to me if the PSU player's stick hit the the GK due to the player's actions, or if the tOSU defender hit him from behind, which caused the stick to hit the GK.

They are a good team right now. They are not exceptional.

They basically offered nothing in the second half of the first period; they were outshot 15-7. Right now, they’re a team made up of several talented individuals, but they’re by no means a good team.
Does it ever end? The B1G never ceases to shove it up Nittany rectums because they can and are instructed to do so.

The Big 10 doesn’t have hockey officials, and OSU won’t need officiating help to beat PSU on Saturday.
So the officials call a penalty agaaainst OSU after PSU is already up in the last minute of play? 
Good thing we didn't fire Guy after the first period.
Matt Rhule would turn this team around
he got checked hard into the boards in the 3rd (??) period. I don't believe he took a shift after that, but am not certain.
After the first period, they played a very good game until the obligatory penalties late in the third period, and were the better team. Hopefully, this game was a step in the right direction.
It’s always good to win even when your game really isn’t anywhere close to where it needs to be: they still start games very slowly, take too many penalties, and continuously give up breakaways on the power play. But like I said, it ended up being a good win on the road, and they played pretty well in the last two periods.

I will be happy to be wrong, but I thought Fink went back out for the PP, but vanished after that. But, yes, that news is concerning. Fink draws a lot of attention that could now be totally focused on 72.
Double edged sword when you play physical and aggressive like PSU. It was tOSU who took many stupid selfish penalties.
