T-shirts are nice, but we want a sweep tonight.

A slow start for both, and then a turnover leads to a Gopher goal. Reidler in net tonight. 1-0 bad guys.

GOoOoOoOoaaalllll! A quick answer from Ford, off a beautiful pass from McKenna and Gadowsky. 1-1. Only bad news is no Cerrato.

GOoOoOoOaaaallllll!!! DiMarsico pots on from a scrum net front. From Dowiak and Fink. 2-1 two minutes left first period.

GoOoOoOoOoAaalllll! Katzin scores on a Misa rebound very late first period. !!! 3-1!

Gopher 2on1 beats Reidler, 3-2 Guy’s guys.

Brutal hit on DiMarsico under review. Laubach blasted the dastardly Gopher, which may shorten any PSU PP. Five minute major on Minny, two minute minor on PSU.

GoOoOoOoOalll on the PP for PSU! Ricochet off stick or skate net front. Credit may go the DiMarsico, now under review. 4-2 if it stands. Overturned. Still 3-2, 1:02 left in the AYCE PP. 9:17 left 2nd.

No joy on the PP, but tOSU did beat Sparty. Need three points to pass them in the standings.

A penalty on PsU led to a Gopher retaliatory shot on Ford. He cannot put weight on right leg. PSU now thin and shorthanded for two minutes. 7:04 left 2nd.

End second, still 3-2. Missing Ford now, need Reidler to stand tall like a Lion in net.

Quiet third so far, a slash on Minny has PsU on the man advantage. 3-2, 8:19 to go. Again, no joy on the PP. 5:42 to go.

GoOoOlLlLoAllll! Smith buries one on a two on one break after deking the Dman. From Fink and Misa. It was shocking since PsU was unable to change for a long time and some tired Lions were on fumes. Also, 100th career point for Fink! 4-2, 1:51, empty net and PP for Gophers. 6 on 4.

GoOoOoOoAlllll! Empty netter for Dowiak from Fink! Shorty as well. How sweep it is!

And, the report from exiting Pegula, the line for autographs of Fink, Laubach, Smith and the 18 year old went all the way from the table to just past Subway on the other side of the rink. And people were still getting in line, bless their hearts.

A much faster-paced game tonight. I don't like how sloppy the play can be at times in our own defensive zone, but we got some good goaltending in this series. It's a beautiful sight to see a big defenseman with the stickhandling skills and offensive threat that Smith has—no surprise he was drafted in the first round. Needed that sweep.

Congratulations on last nights victory and the series sweep. Maybe we can do you a favor and be a spoiler against other conference teams.

The better team won the weekend and season series. I knew this going in, but it's hockey. I was hoping for some puck luck but it didn't happen.

Best of luck the rest of the way!

Would be great if your guys can get splits rest of the way or at least steal a few here and there.

I would not be surprised if this Minnesota team is pretty good and tough to beat come February. They have a lot of new players this season and obviously have not fully come together yet. Therefore, they should be able to start winning their share of games.

I don’t think that there’s much of a talent difference between Minnesota and PSU; one of them will finish in fourth place in the conference, and it probably will be PSU.

The sweep was good and needed. However, PSU looked like a tired team yesterday and made a lot of unforced turnovers, especially from the second period onward. Fortunately, Minnesota ran out of gas in the third period too.

By the way, Gadowsky has to find a way to start keeping Pittsburgh area kids like Cooley and Mooney from going to Minnesota. Right now, PSU has everything to offer these kind of players as Minnesota does, and their relatives can drive from Pittsburgh to PSU in two and a half hours to see all of the games in person.

Good lord. You are such a negative person. Do us a favor and stay off the hockey thread.
