2025-26 PSU Men's Ice Hockey Thread

They’re 3-5 in their last eight games; they’re not winning anything this season. However, considering that they play with no defensive structure at all and were totally outplayed tonight, getting three out of four points this weekend was more than their play deserved. They now give up the first goal in almost every game going back to the MSU series a month ago and constantly are playing from behind.
I will say that both MSU and Michigan are starting to regress too, so there may be an opportunity for somebody to beat them in the playoffs, but I don’t expect that it will be this PSU team, which usually needs to score at least five goals to win a game.
Blah blah blah. You are such a whiny beech. What is so pathetic about you is you probably get excited about them not doing well and getting to come on the board posting like you a total gleeful wanker.

OSU went into the #1 ranked team this weekend and got three out of four points and largely outplayed them. If they were to play that way in a one-off playoff game against PSU, they most likely would win, and yeah, I know PSU swept them last weekend, but still gave up four goals in each game.
The truth often hurts. Everything that I said is based on facts: they’re bad defensively, give up the first goal in most games, and are 3-5 in their last eight games. I forgot to mention that they’ve only won one game out of the last eight in regulation. IMO, this team reached their zenith when they swept Wisconsin on the road, and since then have regressed, and yeah I know that injuries are a part of that.

I don’t put anyone on ignore. Yet, it’s hard to take anything you say seriously when you know so very little about hockey.
OSU just went into Munn and got 4 out of 6 points. You may be familiar with OSU, that team we just scored 16 goals on… that Sparty just salvaged two points against. (Congrats on finally figuring out there are no more playoff series. Only took a couple months.)
Fundamentally, in your opinion, PSU is a bad team. And yet they will finish third in arguably the best hockey conference in the nation. They have already qualified for the NCAA tournament. And they have done all this while being a walking MASH unit. You probably don’t even know what TOI is, but figure it out, then look at that stat with regard to the boys in Blue and White and their peers. Some of our guys are seeing off the charts TOI for the past 3-4 series.
Of course they are going to be leaking oil. If they had to seriously consider upping some club team guys, you KNOW the situation was getting desperate. It’s hard to play with so few, and it’s hard to practice with so few. Not to mention how hard it is to mesh as a cohesive unit on the ice skating with units and people you typically don’t skate with.
Getting a split with a desperate Bucky this weekend would be nice. Anything more is gravy. Getting Cerrato back will help greatly. Losing Dowiak has really hurt at the dot, and Chuck can help with that.
But what really outs you, and your alter ego over at BSD, is that you only post negative, and you are never, ever here after a win. They’ve never done anything positive, never played a complete game, never dominated a team. And yet they’ve done all of those things, several times, this season. It’s exhausting dealing with such stupidity. I’d rather my thumbs do play by play for a 10-9 game than explain basic fundamentals of hockey to you. Considering that it is beyond obvious to everyone that anything can happen in hockey, you seem oblivious to the fact that upsets happen. Heck, two years in a row now Sparty has gotten punked on their senior weekend by teams ranked far below them. Minny beat Michiganistan. Give it a rest and just enjoy the games without the incessant and ignorant negativity.

That person’s job is not needed anymore because their conference just banned the dimming of lights or strobe effects after goals for the rest of the season. If the B1G were to ever do that it would dramatically change the theatrical goal light show at the Pegula.You mean the person who used to control the lighting?

What a surprise. Another touchdown and extra point given up in the first game of a weekend home series against a good team, just like in the first home games against Michigan and MSU this season. Like I said, this team is not winning anything this season, and I fully expect them to lose their Big 10 playoff game.
