Have to think Yates and Ziglar are hurt.

Our DL depth chart is brutal.

Buchannan got the hook.
Yates and Johnson and Blaske hurt.
Ziglar played exclusively special teams.
Unclear if Miller and Adams are hurt. I think they are. They didn’t play and I expected them to play a lot.

Check my depth chart. I’m fairly accurate and update it daily to the best of my knowledge.

Charlotte will give us a better idea of who is running with the 3s

The Buchanan thing is weird. He's getting lauded but he looked pretty raw. I like the idea of him getting reps, but if we're trying to win the game, shouldn't we be starting someone a little more stable? This goes back to my theory that the coaches didn't actually care about winning the first game, instead were just focusing on development.
Edit to add - it's possible that Boone/Moore/Myles/O'Steen aren't considered "stable" either...

We are playing the guys who perform best in practice. Simply as that. Buchanan is a true freshman who enrolled in June. Didn't have the benefit of spring ball - yea he is raw!

All camp he was going against our OL and did well. After seeing what our DL did to TCU is it any wonder why he looked great? I though he looked raw and a bit slow with his footwork and the need to add strength - no surprise given he is a true freshman. I also think he looks like a different guy by year-end. And next year I think he could be a cornerstone to the OL. Which would be huge because then Norwood, Boone, McVay, Green, and Hall could battle it out for RT. That would eliminate the need to go to the portal (though I suspect 2 of those would end up transfering).
