Agree. You could argue that Lane could be higher but yeah, splitting hairs.

PS. Look at CDJ making the list. Impressive.

hard to believe that at this time last year, Saquon had just joined the team via free agency, Braun had just joined the team via free agency, Mitchell had just been drafted by the team, Smith was a backup, and DeJean had just been drafted by the team. And now, they are on the list of least afford to lose to injury, at #3, #7, #8, #9, and #10 respectively.

I'm tempted to move Mitchell, Smith, and DeJean higher on the list, as the Birds would be screwed if they were out for an extended period of time. But I can't find anyone above them to move down (Braun, perhaps, but it seems they really don't have a legitimate replacement for him).

It is surprising that DeVonta isn't on the list, but Jimmy K. indicates that he has him at #11, so it's almost as though he's on the list of top 10.

Howie is good at his job.

Is today farewell to the brotherly shove? All signs point there.

I disagree with the logic behind the ban - it’s obviously targeting the Eagles success with that play - but I’ll be happy to no longer have to hear about it.

There’s nothing like a WestSideLion reverse jinx. I’m taking orders. Prices start at $500 and go from there.
I'm a little surprised. I thought it was going down as well. I'm torn. On one hand, any team can do it, it's obvious that the Eagles can just do it a lot better. On the other hand, the defense can't push each other so it can be considered an unfair advantage.

I'm happy that the Eagles can still run it, but let's be honest, if it were banned, they would still run a QB sneak better than anyone else.

Colts have to be happy as well w/ Tyler Warren.

It was close. By all accounts, Lurie really lobbied hard to save it and succeeded.

If the NFL wants it gone, then it’s a matter of time. They’ll continue to tweak the proposal and lobby. They got from 16 votes to 22 in a month’s time.

ESPiN has a good article on it. Sounds like there are some that flip flop on it, and having Kelce there to provide a players perspective helped

sounds like Kelce made the point that making the decision to not ban it meant teams could work on it this offseason.

I think the best thing to happen would be for other teams to work on it, run it more, become successful and change their minds

in the mean time, I’m torn. 6+ pushes a game and Ram it down their throats? Don’t run it at all and instead run a version that would have been compliant with the packers proposal and be wildly successful just as a f**k you to the league? I vote for option 2, but I’m a wildly spiteful person by nature….

I think the rest of the league becoming proficient at it is a big problem. It would effectively end short-yardage defense across the board.

They’d be left with options including banning the play or changing the first down yardage to 15 yards or something to reduce short yardage plays.

It will get banned, IMO. But we’ll enjoy it while it’s around.

Somewhat unbiased take (grew up a 49ers fan, but do mostly root for PSU players such as Saquon in the NFL, including last year's SB run):

The Brotherly Shove does not seem to increase the likelihood of injury.

If it is so unfair and unstoppable, why couldn't the Bills or other teams execute it effectively?

Also, Saquon's take on his role :ROFLMAO:  :ROFLMAO: :

Disagree on the birds being screwed without Dejean or Mitchell for an extended period of time. Obviously wouldn't be ideal, but Ringo has been solid when he's had his opportunitys and Eli Ricks has been serviceable in the slot.

What's your point? The offense can't grab people by the jersey for leverage on any given play, giving the defense and inherant advantage since they can. Should we do away with that rule too?

There's no sensical reason for the play to be banned.

so going from pro bowl level to serviceable at best in the back end would not be a big deal?

The point was very clear. I gave both sides of the argument so I’m not in favor of one vs the other.

Some interesting battles. I am concerned at RG -- can Sheen get it done, will the light bulb go on in Green's head, or do they have to go with someone else? The CB opposite Mitchell is also a question mark, though Ringo seems to be the favorite, with Jackson is a backup plan. I'm still not sure what the plan is at safety. Is Mukuba ready? Can S. Brown do the job (I don't think so)? Will they sign a veteran FA? (It seems that Justin Simmons has campaigned for the Birds to sign him.)

There's 2 reasons they re signed Matt Pryor, and you just listed them above.

I like the Eagles RB room more than this guy. And I think they signed AJ Dillon with the intent of him being RB2. There’s a recovery there, but they want him playing meaningful snaps.

If Dillon is healthy, and doesn't suffer a continuation of the stinger issues, then the RB room is in good shape. Only time will tell if the uncertainty about Dillon's condition is warranted or not.
