With the release today (5/12) of the 2025 season opener, and the slated release on Wednesday (5/14) of the complete 2025 schedule, it's time to start a thread for the 2025 Eagles. Last season started out kind of slow for the Birds, but ended in glory as they won the Super Bowl. Hopefully, all the moves the front office made this offseason lead to a return to the Super Bowl.

Home opener against the Cowboys. I'd prefer the game later in the season, but it's always nice to beat the Cowboys. ;)

The good thing is the mileage the Eagles will be flying this year won't be nearly as much as many other teams.

Interesting point. With the Birds having 9 away games this season, the potential was that they would be racking up the miles. But the Chargers are the only west coast/PT team they'll be visiting.

Some good info. But Zangaro kind of screws up his comments about Buffalo, in that he implies that it's worth going on the Maid of the Mist to see Niagara Falls (which it is), but Maid of the Mist closes for the season on 11/3, and the game is on 12/28

Any guesses on the AAV on that deal? I’d guess $16M. Thankfully for Mrs Sirianni, that’s not enough for Nick to go Full Belichek.
I would say the only way to even guess would be what does the guy in Green Bay get? As far as I know he's the only one with a public salary. They have done pretty well under him, so that would be a good jumping off point with about a 20% bump at least. I wonder what the perks are? CC membership? Clothes deal? (Nick is a snappy dresser on the sideline) Cars? 2 at least. The use of Jeffrey's jet?

There are a few other benchmarks. Schefter said early in the offseason that he believed Ben Johnson got around $14M as a “hot commodity” first time head coach. There may have been a bidding war dynamic affecting that figure.

Nick’s still a very young coach who has gone to 2 Super Bowls in three years and has won one title. The Eagles likely played the “Howie’s amazing roster” angle in negotiations, keeping Nick from the tippy-top range of Reid, Payton, etc. Those guys are likely above $20M.

Lurie has a reputation for spending money when warranted. It is here. Nick may be making more than $16M.

Heard on NFL radio this AM, Ed McCafferty (sp?) said
Big Red was $20 mil per season
Sean Payton was $19 mil per
Pete Carroll was $18 mil per ( I think)
Hairball , Jim I think was $16 mil
(I think these are right) so where would Nick fall? I would guess below Big Red and Sean but above Hairballs?

My guess is in the $16M to $18M range. The wrinkle is that Nick doesn’t have the longevity (yet), but he’s been to and won as many titles as Payton and Carroll. And he has a chance to add to those numbers and coach another decade plus.

Agree. You could argue that Lane could be higher but yeah, splitting hairs.

PS. Look at CDJ making the list. Impressive.
because its true, losing either of the 2 corners would be tough on the D. IMO the reason the D was so tuff was Mitchell completely and totally took away their top receiver, and CDJ the second and from there the DL looked good.

Slay was also quite good despite being 34. Outside CB opposite Quinyon will be interesting this fall.

I’ve heard good arguments for keeping Coop in the slot and for moving him outside. The most compelling is that the Eagles gain a lot more value using a rookie contract outside than in the a slot.
