I think to get 3 in the finals is underwhelming given the hype coming in. But I believe everyone is still wrestling, which I don't think was the case this time last year. We'll have to see how it ends up.
I had 3 for the finals. Haines though instead of Barr. Didnt think Beau or van ness or kerk would win. Barr was a toss up but he turned the tables with that one hand on the ground move.

3 in the finals is excellent and we can’t take anything for granted. These tournaments are brutal.

So, for those with a better understanding than me -- despite the team lead, do we consider this to be an underwhelming tournament given the hype coming in?
You can’t say that. We are the best ever even if we lose. If we do it’s an injury, or bad luck, or unfair size, or the ncaa is against us,
or illness…or something.

I'm no expert but that's the way tournaments are. Give credit to other teams who came in and made some noise. Nebraska has a couple guys carrying the team and they'll get a ton of post-tournament hype, because let's face it - the media is always looking for a feel-good story. Penn State winning again is boring to them.
"The scenery only changes for the lead sled dog ..." PSU Dominance is boring for a lot of people ...

You only had 3 finalists coming into the tournament? That's low IMO

Good news is PSU is going to win another national title. More good news is PSU will have 10 AA. Only the 2nd school to ever do it. More good news is PSU returning wrestlers know they have work to do. Really like to see guys get better on top with turns. I’d love it as well if Davis, when leading with a minute to go in the match, would stop letting guys get to his legs where it’s 50/50 if he hangs on or loses.

Decent night, about as expected. Kerk can barely move. Barr is fine as is Carter and Mitch....they all wrestled well. Consi guys got it done, brought the fire and wrestled smart. Not surprised at Levi....Hamiti's length was going to be a problem and David had him ready. When you are giving up a TD in the first 10/15 seconds....SVN was the only disappointment. Not losing, stuff happens, but to give up 10 plus 2:45 in riding time in period 1 was stunning. Beau.......did anyone not expect this to be razor close? Not a fan of not shooting and he always lives and dies with close matches.

Glad BearClaw will AA. Terrific young man.

There are a whole lot of teams who are putting out some very talented guys.....very impressive. Great fun to watch.

I thought PSU would win the title
I didnt think bartlett. Van ness. Haines. BARR. Davis kerk and luke would win a title. C Star isnt a shoe in to win tomorrow. Barr is a decided underdog. Kasak surprised me. Didnt see him losing in the qtrs. Told my son hamiti would beat levi tonight. His length is a problem. Levi jumping 2 weight classes is tough. I will say Davis finishing at worst 6th is a nice surprise. If bartlett and van ness and haines take 3rd and luke 3rd or 4th it will be a great tournament. Hopefully kerk can get at least one more win. I think the field is catching up to psu. Theres no nolf, taylor, ruth, nickal retherford etc on the team orher than messenbrink and c star. I refuse to be disappointed in 10 all americans and another national title. We have been spoiled and maybe have unrealistic expectations. Enjoy the ride and tomorrow. I am

I don’t understand why he let Hamiti up. He is a gasser. Don’t understand out strategy in these matches

Dominated the semis for years - we were bound for a down year (for our standards I should say - 3 in the finals is still amazing!)

Still going to run away with the team title and have a bunch guys in the top 3
Only 3 seniors right??? So yeah you will have those years where you are fresh soph heavy (6) where the expectations of dominance might be tempered ——so overall quite a feat with 10 AA. Albeit not as many individual champs as compared to prior more experienced teams

Really impressed with Davis. I am sometimes down on him getting himself into unnecessary scrambles, but he is a legitimate top 4 threat.

Iowa fans call him Carl for some weird reason. I assume because Cael --> Carl is an easy typo. Iowa fans are strange.
They claim that every time they type in Cael, the spell corrector changes it to Carl, I read that on their message board

This team has never been as great, to me, as some of the others in regards to superstars. Kasak is a surprise as is Haines but sometimes that's just how wrestling goes. Didn't think Lilledahl would win it all. Davis placing wasn't a given. Haines, Beau and Kerk all had tough tasks to win. Barr is a pleasant surprise to me.

I did think we were the deepest PSU team, and that looks to be holding true.

This was always about CStar and winning first decisively.
