Politics be dammed, a former Air Force Academy Airman (AF VETERAN HERE!!) beating Steveson then saluting the CinC….. so effing AMERICA!!!

EDIT AFTER 2 MORE BOURBONS

I gotta admit, that’s a pretty freaking crisp salute for the ‘ol Lieutenant. Nicely done.

I was thinking MM because of his higher bonus rate.
C'mon! Carter goes up a weight class to take on the defending national champion AND beats the kid twice. CStar did not have to wrestle him the first time...but chose to put it all on the line in the All Star match. THAT is F*cking Balls and confidence at the highest (Hodge?) level!

You also can't discount the pressure CStar was under all year going for an unprecedented 5 Nattys. Great wrrestlers like Gable and Spencer Lee both s*** the bed under such tremendous pressure trying to get 4 Nattys. You cannot marginalize the added pressure CStar endured.

Cassar wasn‘t as big but had the belief and beat Gable twice. Those were the only losses Gable had until now.
Which is why I almost threw a can at my TV when the ESPN "clown crew" just gushed about Gable being so great and never losing a match....after he lost F*cking twice to Cassar! It's like cancel culture staring at you on live TV!:devilish::devilish::devilish:

Iowa fans call him Carl for some weird reason. I assume because Cael --> Carl is an easy typo. Iowa fans are strange.
Could be autocorrect
You would think Brands knows what a stall is. They spend 15 minutes each day practicing stalling. 🤣
Their FANS know stalling!
Absolutely hate the breather challenges
Absolute BS move…I smell a rat!
I’d hate to have had a drinking game that you take a shot of liquor for every brick thrown. Sheesh.
It was a lot!

That was fun. I don’t know if I’ll do anything about my experience because I’m lazy, but if you have the chance to go, do it. What a great weekend. Starting tonight with the big starocci win, seeing some great finished to other not so entertaining matches (this is normal), Mesenbrink getting his after the blunder last year, then the loudest roar to end the night. I’m exhausted, but so worth it

Yes moved to Plus
Sorry, but this is so stupid. The have a late NCAA women's BB game.........that should be on plus until wrestling coverage is over.

At least the announcers talked more about the matches and the NCAA then their own personal lives this year.

The mat level camera angle........I could do without. Maybe wrestling purists feel differently which is fine.

There are some wildly talented young wrestlers out there and next year in Cleveland, things should be wild.

Two idle thoughts from last night:

1. They showed David Taylor shortly after Hendrickson won. Taylor looked locked in, serious. Did he not realize that the match was over? Could he not comprehend what had happened?

2. By far, the loudest I cheered last night was when Hendrickson won. Not for Starocci or Mesenbrink. Granted, Hendrickson winning was dramatic and a shocker. Still, does this make me a true wrestling fan or a jerk? 🤔😞

Cael nowhere to be seen in this photo. Maybe he’s obscured in the back. For such an iconic figure he certainly doesn’t seek the limelight.
He is to Dake's right (left side of photo). You can only see the white Nike hat.

I am behind Starocci... less iconic, but not in limelight.

When Hamiti beat Haines in the semifinals, they showed Taylor and he had no emotion. In my mind, he probably felt torn. Haines was an M2 kid and trained his Sr at the NLWC, so he and Taylor had a pretty close relationship, I would assume. Must be a strange situation for both parties.

The 4th place trophy presentation was embarrassing for Iowa. The coach,Keuter, and the 3rd person I didn’t recognize.
Not a good look for Iowa.
Every other team showed up.

Below is the photo attached to Greg's article. Cael can be seen much better. I'm sure there was a phalanx of photographers taking pictures in front of the group. Everyone had a different angle so who you can see and who you can't would depend on which photo you're seeing. Also, in the time they were standing there some people obviously moved around. Trying to get a good group photo in that scenario is almost impossible.
