Only time will tell, but I've seen multiple articles that indicated that it was pretty much a foregone conclusion that the Lions would lose both of their coordinators.

It’s hard losing both established coordinators in the same season. Go look at the 2005 New England Patriots after Weiss and Crennel both left after the 2004 season. 14-2 to 10-6 and an early playoff exit.

I bet there are plenty of other examples. Coordinators should be ambitious. It’s just part of the cycle of winning in the NFL.

Kingsbury will leave Washington too.

That’s how I’ve run my career. When the leaders above you leave for something “better” the new people think you know what you’re doing. It’s worked for twenty years so far.
