Let the Cubs and Dodgers get those top two seeds. I’m all for it after last year. I’d rather the Phils get the three seed and keep momentum going.

He could potentially help them this year. I think next year is a bit more likely, but either way, it fits this win now mindset.

that seems unlikely (helping them this year). The Phillies had a PC after Day 1 (R1 - R3) of the draft, and they indicated that they planned to use Wood as a starter. They also indicated that they were aware of the innings he pitched this year, and that he had encountered some arm issues this season, so they plan to be careful with how and when he pitches this year.

An interesting draft for the Fightins. They went really hard on pitching, and really heavy on college players.

R7: Matthew Fisher, RHP, Memorial HS (Indiana)

Might that indicate that they’re about to throw existing prospect arms at the trade deadline?

There will be people pissing because it’s baseball, but what a night in ATL. I thought it was just about perfect and showed the health of the game. Only baseball can manufacture moments like Kershaw cameo, Freeman being replaced mid inning in ATL, Torre making a pitching change, and the Aaron celebration to cap it off.

Whats coming is a 2 month race to the finish line in what looks to be the most competitive NL playoff field ever. If you have the Dodgers, Phillies, Mets, Cubs, Brewers and Padres at the end of the season, buckle up. That’s a gauntlet and any of those teams can legit feel they could be the NL champ.

In my best Harry voice, Kyle Schwarber you are the man! Sick.
