Like I saidAlvarado pitched 0.2 innings in that series. He gave up 2 earned runs and 2 walks in that time frame for an ERA of 27. Hoffman appeared in 3 games with an ERA of 40.50 Strahm also appeared in 3 games and had an ERA of 18.

Random thoughts from last night-
2- I don’t think anyone quite understood exactly what they were getting in the trade for The Durantula. Players know game and you can tell how much it means to them knowing the hammer that is coming out of the door to close. That’s a huge boost. But i was not aware of exactly how dominant this guy can be. He has a ridiculous bag of tricks. If he’s right, the combo of gas, gas with devilish late movement, and the slider on top which screws these guys into the ground makes him as unhittable as I’ve seen in a long time. I don’t know how you hit this guy. Thanks Mr Dombrowski.
Random thoughts from last night-
1- Every game I watch, I’m saddened by how bad the umpiring is. I don’t know who had the plate last night but whoever did had a hell of a night. I don’t think I saw one player other than Sosa turn on a ball strike call. The cool thing was that you could hear the ump say in or out after most pitches he did not call strikes. The catchers and pitchers could hear that which helped them get a clear reading of his strike zone. He had a great night, whoever had the plate. And Edmundo, I think it was a strike.
Thanks for posting- I’ll give it a read later today.Alverado, at times, was nearly unhittable. But he also could have control issues at times. Duran is unlike any closer the Fightins have had in quite a few years. I thought this article from Scott Lauber in today's Philadelphia Inquirer did a good job of describing what the addition of Duran means for the Fightins.

The Jhoan Duran Effect is real so far, and there’s precedent for what the Phillies hope he delivers
Kyle Schwarber can’t shake the feeling that he’s seen the impact a new closer like Duran has had on his team. Probably because he has.share.inquirer.com
Two saves without drama. Nice.It was a perfect weekend for the Phils. They swept Texas and the Mets were swept in Milwaukee.
Phillies playing well defensively lately. That helps.Solid wins recently, but the Phils have had some very good luck. Past 4 games, opponent has 31 hits and only scored 6 runs.
Topper got lucky in the bottom of the 8th tonight with Robertson on the mound. I know why he did that, but it felt like an over think and it almost backfired.Solid wins recently, but the Phils have had some very good luck. Past 4 games, opponent has 31 hits and only scored 6 runs.
