Mariners blew it open with 4 in the top of the 10th. 6 straight runs in 2 innings on the Reds. CES placed on the IL with back inflammation.

Can't continue to put up with the errors, now on track to make 40 in a season, which is ridiculous.
Yes, I hope they can keep up the recent hitting. It has been better since they were in San Francisco. Actually getting a bit of offense from the outfielders too. Hays had an impressive first week. .429, 12 hits, 7 runs scored, 3 home runs, 8 RBIs and OPS 1.253. Even when it comes down to earth, his career averages are a step up from the anemic production they were getting.I hope the Reds don't do what they did the last time they scored a bunch of runs in one game. It was as if they had used them all that game. They beat the Ranges 14-3 (31 March) to start the 4-game series only to be shut out 1-0 in each of the next 3 games.
No ****. Just enjoy the series win.^
Great series win, but Baltimore pitched last two innings with position players, ran up the stats considerably.
Yeah, but it was already a bloodbath before that. Anyway, let's hope they didn't use up their week's worth of runs, which is kind of what happened a couple weeks ago after a run explosion.^

Lowder should be in the rotation over Martinez. He is not living up to being the highest paid Red on the roster. If they keep him in because of the contract and his 2nd half, that is a silly reason. It is amazing that the two highest paid players on the roster like Martinez and Candelario have done nothing to help the Reds this year and the Reds flush money away when they could have signed other players or give contract extensions to deserving ones.Do we assume Lowder will start in AAA in Louisville when he's game ready? Abbot already too Spiers spot, but with Spiers on the IL, I assume Lowder will slide into the rotation at Louisville until somebody else winds up on the IL.
Well 26 million says Martinez isn't going anywhere despite what we all might want. I think best we can hope for is a mid-season trade that would bring Lowder up, unless somebody goes on the IL first.Lowder should be in the rotation over Martinez. Did I say get rid of him? No I did not. I said remove him fom the starting rotation, and you know that too. Shift his *** back to the bullpen in middle relief to eat multiple innings and give the Reds spot starts in the event of injuries. The bullpen can always use arms. He turned his season around after getting put in the pen last year after the first stint in the rotation did not work out. Don't stunt the development of young pitchers like Rhett Lowder in Louisville when he has done nothing to warrant a demotion. It is stupid and pointless to put off the future when these guys are ready. Hell, I think we very well see Burns get into the rotation before the year is up. So where does that leave Lowder then if not here? I really don't understand why everyone is in such a rush to bump Abbott from the rotation either. That one doesn't make any sense to me.Well 26 million says Martinez isn't going anywhere despite what we all might want. Just saying that 26 mil is an awful pricey bullpen guy, but I get what you mean. I still think he's mid-season trade bait. I could see Burns being a late season call-up like Lowder was, but if they are in contention, I don't see him unseating anybody other than to give spot starts to give guys days off before the post season. But him and Lowder both will definitely factor into next years rotation.Did I say get rid of him? No I did not. I said the starting rotation, and you know that too. Yes it is a lot to pay anyone that much money who isn't a closer. However, he has got to turn it around to warrant keeping his spot rather than proving some point for how much they paid him. Almost a full month in and he has yet to put up a quality start. He may go 7 scoreless in his next start, but it is against the rebuilding Marlins. Nick Martinez should have never been made the Reds highest paid player and put Cincinnati in this dilemma. There is a reason why he couldn't get a better deal elsewhere and opted to come back here. Investing in a pitcher as the highest paid player in his age 35 season coming off a strong 2nd half was playing with fire. He needs to step it up and start earning that contract. Candelario too, but that is a lost cause.Just saying that 26 mil is an awful pricey bullpen guy, but I get what you mean. I still think he's mid-season trade bait.
