I really wanted to trade him in 2023, as crazy as it would have been at the time. These guys just have a short shelf life in far too many cases, and you could really see the end coming for Diaz.

We basically have him away for nothing.

The Reds should have traded him these past two offseasons and could’ve gotten a better return…but nope, we get their 13th round pick last year who is on the injured list.

May have been a money thing, at least can quit paying Diaz, who is worthless to Reds at this point, was getting killed in AAA as well.

Andrew Abbott is the guy that analytics geeks hate, but he just keeps putting up numbers. He hasn’t shown the ability to remain durable over a full season, but even still, he’s got a winning record and a career ERA under 3.5. That’s a $25 million/year pitcher in free agency. I’m so glad we have him.

Doesn't throw real hard, but has good control and very consistent.

Hunter Greene to the DL.

Wade Miley signed to a major league deal. Lol
Not sure how long Greene will be out, but maybe this is The Reds helping Miley get some Major League starts before the trade deadline so they can maybe get a little something for him at the deadline if he shows out well.

So the Reds are in the helping business now? And just what little something will they get for him?

Let's waste a roster spot on a 38 yr old retread who hasn't pitched in a year. Was Jack Armstrong not available?

To top it all off, Abbott is getting punched in the face today as he has given up 5 runs so far with 2 2run homers. Top of the 6th Reds down 5-1. Reds left 3 stranded in the third. Trevino with today's only hits for the Reds so far and both were doubles.

Miley helped out the Brewers score another run by allowing 3 hits in the 8th.

Edited: Miley gave up 3 hits in the 9th with the third being a 3-run homer.

I would say hurry up trade window but...

Hopefully this was just a 1 day contract. If not.....DFA tonight. What a joke of a signing.

At this point in his career, Miley is best suited to give up a few more runs in a game that's already lost, and preserve the rest of the pen, but the problem is, with Greene AGAIN out, he's probably in line to start some games. I'd rather see them call Burns up.

Dude this is 4D chess right here.

He opted out of his contract a week ago, and the Reds signed him to a major league deal yesterday. What you just posted sounds absurd.

Have the Reds won a series against Milwaukee in this century? Without looking it up, it seems like the answer must be "no".

I don’t think even the average Reds fan understands how talented that infield is. Will they all thrive as expected? Dunno. But it’s fun to root for.

Defensively perhaps, ? on De Le Cruz for that, but offensively the Reds still need to step it up.

Can't imagine the sightlines in the speedway from the stands are going to be worth it. Seems like you'd be super far away from the action on the field.

They have to all be healthy and playing together regularly for that to be the case. Though i will contend that I love ELDC, but I'll go to my grave believing he's better suited for CF than SS. Think of the ground he could cover out there. I think he's just too long for SS. He has trouble getting down on balls. I think Spencer Steer came up as a SS originally. maybe put him or McClain there and move ELDC to CF, but they won't do that. They're dead set on having Elly in the infield.
