Overview

Welcome to the 1st Annual (and possibly last ever) Secretary's Cup. This is the ultimate national competition that rates collegiate athletic performance across sports, weighted by their importance to the Secretary. For those who are itching to opine, "I would have rated [insert sport] differently," please click below.

You can keep that opinion to yourself because you're not the 17ing Secretary

Methodology

Points are allocated based on the following scoring matrix:
1751371905296.png

This is meant to emphasize the importance/joy that excellent football performance brings to the Secretary, while not invalidating men's basketball and baseball. Women's basketball is decidedly lower, though not meaningless. "Other Sports" is limited to Men's Tennis, Women's Soccer, Women's Golf, Volleyball, and Softball.

For those of you ready to chime in with, "Hold on a minute. My nephew just won two cheerleading national championships. What about him?!", I recommend clicking the following:

I'm going to do it anyway - Women's basketball = baseball in the national landscape.

Women’s basketball is so far above baseball on the national landscape it’s not even funny. The CWS Final averaged 2.78 million viewers, which is a very good rating. The women’s basketball championship game averaged 8.5 million viewers. Not even in the same stratosphere.
BTW, the WCWS final averaged 2.4 million viewers, so softball and baseball are pretty much equal on a national scale. Far behind football, and men’s and women’s basketball.
