Jax and Zhahid get easy wins. Wyatt got dominated in round 1. Looked terrible.
Yeah, Wyatt looked way off. But on plus side, Jax and Zhahid won their second match, with Jax beating one of top title contenders 7-2. He’s got a world medalists next and if wins Uguev, a world and oly champ at 57kg

I didn’t see Wyatt’s match. I wasn’t strong enough to wake up that early. I did see PJ Duke tough loss and Jax big win against Suda!

Suda was the #4 seed. Jax looks great but has fingers on right hand taped and they appeared to be tender on two occasions. Valencia has had two easy wins going into the quarters.

Valencia has a 10-0 tech fall in the quarters. Duke's opponent wins in the qtrs against Austin Gomez of Mexico to pull Duke back into the repechage. Kurbanov who teched Hendrickson won his round of 16 match 5-0 but will have to win again to pull Wyatt back into repechage.

I try to stay away from hyperbole and getting my hopes up too much, but am I insane to think that Jax may very well be better than advertised? Even given all the hype?
Kid has looked amazing. He has long arms that help him in both offense and defense, great balance, good speed… he is. Better already than I thought he would be the day he committed. Hes running with the big boys.

Tough loss. Let’s bounce back and get bronze Jax.
Jax almost scored several times, but Uguev is so experienced, he was able to capitalize. Uguev also showed a ton of class. He could have poured it on at the end, but didn’t. Jax may need to work on cardio(or maybe getting out of high school and adding a little dad strength. Kid is a BALLER!)

Went up 2-0 early. Was in the match the whole way up until about a minute left. His opponent was very sound, strong and was at the top of his game. I think he wore Jax down. Jax had the length, but Uguev had the strength

sorry to hear about your loss
So he’s right there with an Olympic champ.

We are a blessed fanbase!

It was a high school classmate…she’s not suffering anymore.

He was definitely right there. It was obvious, he was wrestling one heck of a wrestler. He got outmuscled and out scrambled, but only barely. He is an 18 yo high school, unpolished freestyle wrestler, and it was apparent, but still almost pulled it off. Hats off.

So, his rebound will be telling. I’ll lay odds right now he medals. 5/1 and pm for the bet!

Rin won his first match against Bulgaria by 18-8 TF. Lost to Kazakhstan in the 2nd round but that wrestler has made the semis and can still pull Rin back in. Edit: Uulu won in the semis so Rin will wrestle in reparchage tomorrow.

Mirzo lost his first match to the 6 seed and that wrestlers lost in the next round so he is out.

Team USA: Spencer Lee and David Carr lost in quarters. Levi Haines and Trent Hidley are in the semis.

RBY pulled back into reparchage but Spencer Lee was not. RBY and Rin are on opposite sides so no chance of them wrestling.

Haines into the gold medal match with a 4-1 win. Carr pulled back in when the Albanian made the finals.
