I'm setting this (and all of the B1G Session Threads) the day before the start of the B1G Tourney, so that everyone knows the plans, has the links, etc.

Please use the thread for all pre-tournament, in-session, and post-session discussion for the 2026 B1G Wrestling Tournament.

When:
March 8, 12:00 pm EDT

Where:
Bryce Jordan Center, State College, PA

Action:
This session will feature consolation semifinals, and 7th-place matches.

TV:
none

Video Streaming:
B1G+, for those that are subscribers

Audio Streaming:
The radio PBP, with Jeff Byers at the mic, will be streamed for free. The pre-Session portion of the broadcast will start at 11:40 am, with the action starting at 12 pm.
To get the PBP via LionVision, go to:

GoPSUsports.com

Once there, click on the 3 horizontal bars in the upper right corner

From the drop-down menu that appears, select the down arrow to the right of Multimedia

Next, select LionVision from the Multimedia drop down menu

On the LionVision screen, click on the arrow to the left of Wrestling: Big Ten Championships (Session 3/4 - one entry) - State College, PA

Team Scoring:
The best place to track the team scoring is the Penn State Wrestling Club web site. The link for the team scoring is:

https://www.pennstatewrestlingclub.org

PBP:
I should be good for PBP. I believe @SlipperyPete and @GregPickel will be good to go as well. .As always, anyone else is encouraged to help with that as well. I remind you to please include the score for the match in your posts, or provide some context (wrestler, school, and weight class) beyond just "that's not a takedown." It also helps to give folks a heads up as to what mat a PSU wrestler will be wrestling on. You can usually get that info from Ironhead's audio PBP, from Penn State Wrestling's twitter account, or from TrackWrestling.

So, if I have this right the only PSU wrestler in action during session III is Braeden Davis, right? It looks like Braeden has only 1 match left and that's against Billy Dekraker (NW). If he wins that he takes 7th and secures the AQ for Nationals. If he loses he takes 8th and has to hope for an at-large bid.

All the rest of our boys are competing in the medal rounds in session IV, right? It looks to me like Cole can place no worse than 6th (or "sith" as Byers would say) and can finish as high as 3rd. He first faces Ben Kueter. Win that and go to the 3rd/4th place match against the winner of Feldman vs Amos. Lose and drop down to the 5th/6th place match to face the loser of Feldman/Amos.

Everyone else is in the finals. The schedule says session IV starts at 4:30 pm (ET) and includes the 1st through 5th place matches, so if someone HAD to miss session III they would only miss BD's final match, right?

The first bout assignments are in. All three mats are three deep with ninth place matches to kick things off.

Kind of tough to get up in time for Session III (setting clocks ahead, and stayed up late binge watching a streaming show)

And kind of tough for Ironhead to ramble on with so little action early in Session III (involving PSUers)

But so nice that PSU has nobody going in the early matches in Session III

If you want to exit and later re-enter for the finals, you have to leave through Gate A and scan your ticket when exiting.

On the Big Screen, while telling you this, they wrote Gate C and then kept it on the screen.

They later fixed it… but still. Not the kind of error that is acceptable.

I hate to ask, but if someone could once again list the mat assignment page from Flo, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

The Iowa board is saying that Angelo is forfeiting out of the tourney.

If so, he gets 8th place = seed
Fairly good chance of Welsh-Ferrari III in the NCAA quarters.

He's gonna get a high coaches' rank with wins over Sinclair, Fishback, Moore, Goin, Ryder, Dean; and his only on-mat losses to Welsh. But he won't have an RPI, and he'll lose Conference Placement to most of the field.

what would you guess his seed is? If they don't give him 8 or 9, it shouldn't be too bad. 6, 7, 10, and 11 are opposite side. 12 and 13 would be semis. I could see them bumping him out of 8 or 9 to avoid that
