I don’t remember Davis gassing even when he had a tougher pull to 125. i don’t think he had enough time to get into the swing of things.

The math doesn't add up with the lineup in the future . Blaze ,Ono ,Desmond and Davis for 2 weights. if you add Luke 5 wrestlers for 3 weights. Some ability to red shirt a couple of guys.. I was told Blaze will not be going 133 probably again. That opens 133. It's going to be a interesting off season.
I was thinking more along the lines of the next matches for Forrest and Vega.
Fantastic first day! An Elite Eight off to the QF’s and two more scrapping in the back-alley undercard. I’ll take that situation every damn NCAA Friday morning. Even better for me, I’m not in the crew obsessed with points records. Seems that falling short would diminish their enjoyment of yet another team title. Nah, that ain't for me. Barring an in-coming transfer, Cole has basically no competition for the starting HWY spot for the next 2yrs on the top team in the nation; someone explain to me why he would remotely consider transferring? Connor might be the 2nd best 197 in the country, and it would be understandable if he was unwilling to wait for Barr to graduate.
Did Locket get dinged for throwing his head gear after his loss?

Cole will get stronger and better. Literally on the edge of the podium, a place where only one PSU hwt has been as a freshman that I can remember. That one, Kerk, was a couple years older and landed at 7th.
I see no reason conner wouldn't hit the portal next year, he should get a medical redshirt this yr and that would give 4 yrs to see what kind an offer he would get.
Davis looks and does hold his own in the first period. By the 3rd, his feet get heavy and he stands a little bit taller - thus his vulnerabilities show up.
He will next year also , n.car or NC.st .guys who are good should be wrestling some where.
He’s been wrestling long enough this year to overcome the “on the couch” excuse. This is in his head, IMO. He has doubt late in a match and shows distraction. Tough to move those feet when you are talking to them in your head.
Fewer sports show on or off mat distraction like wrestling. Lots of purported “gassers” were actually showing anxiety. Suddenly forgetting a Wisconsin wrestler that struggled with it. There are past wrestlers in our own room that did not achieve their goals over it, some related to off mat, some from parents, breakups, and one I know from another school that struggled to breathe when he got ahead of a “better” wrestler. I know another one that came short of State tourney goals simple because he couldn’t quite focus on his match as well as his auto racing. Braedon is often looking for help from either the ref, the coaches or both. A focused Braedon takes Hardy down at will and showed it again last night, without needing a frantic pace to do it.

Rutgers would be crazy not to grab Pritzlaff and find an admin job for Goody.
His big wins came off him capitalizing on other's shots. Keuter now knows this, so he never attempted a shot in B1G or NCAA. Cole needs to take a bunch of half shots and use movement to force his opponent to take a shot or get hit with stalling.
Yeah - That was a tearful mess. These guys all care so much and become overly invested in getting the “W”. DT will have to coach Lockett up for today’s consi action. Coaching a guy after a loss is something that Cael does very well ….. of course he’s built a deep culture that places “getting better” as a very high priority. I wonder if DT can do the same?? If so, he’ll be a great coach! If not, he’ll be a slightly better version of Brands.

Maybe Blaze, but Ono is too short for 141. I am not saying he can't win matches at 141, but he would have trouble with taller wrestlers.
