Davis obviously needed more time to adjust to 141. The plan was for 26/27 season. Kudos to him for putting team first and giving it a go. He can't get away with some of his risky moves at 141 like he could at lighter weights. And Hardy is just better period.
The math doesn't add up with the lineup in the future . Blaze ,Ono ,Desmond and Davis for 2 weights. if you add Luke 5 wrestlers for 3 weights. Some ability to red shirt a couple of guys.. I was told Blaze will not be going 133 probably again. That opens 133. It's going to be a interesting off season.Davis obviously needed more time to adjust to 141. The plan was for 26/27 season. I was thinking more along the lines of the next matches for Forrest and Vega.Yeah - I guess they’ve got to fill up the long summer somehow. There’s only so many freestyle articles they can put out
Barring an in-coming transfer, Cole has basically no competition for the starting HWY spot for the next 2yrs on the top team in the nation; someone explain to me why he would remotely consider transferring? Connor might be the 2nd best 197 in the country, and it would be understandable if he was unwilling to wait for Barr to graduate.Where would they go? Cole will always be a heavyweight. They both can't wrestle 197. In would only benefit Connor.
Lilledahl isn't moving up any time soon. The math doesn't add up with the lineup in the future . Blaze ,Ono ,Desmond and Davis for 2 weights. if you add Luke 5 wrestlers for 3 weights. Did Locket get dinged for throwing his head gear after his loss?I can speak for the PSWC scores. I think the PSWC and the Flo scores align except for Oklahoma State and NC State.
Oklahoma State may have lost a team point along the way. Otherwise, the PSWC score looks correct to me.
I think Flo has NC State’s score wrong. Flo’s score was 1 less than the PSWC score after Session 1. It looked like Flo didn’t have the 149 pounder linked to the team, which was causing the difference.
Thank goodness message boards weren’t around when Kerry McCoy was a freshman.Barring an in-coming transfer, Cole has basically no competition for the starting HWY spot for the next 2yrs on the top team in the nation; someone explain to me why he would remotely consider transferring? I see no reason conner wouldn't hit the portal next year, he should get a medical redshirt this yr and that would give 4 yrs to see what kind an offer he would get.Freshman loses to a higher seeded returning AA.
Board: he and his brother are goners.
And to think people claimed we wouldn't go negative.
Davis looks and does hold his own in the first period. By the 3rd, his feet get heavy and he stands a little bit taller - thus his vulnerabilities show up.Davis obviously needed more time to adjust to 141. The plan was for 26/27 season. In which case, why hasn't Sealey hit the portal?I see no reason conner wouldn't hit the portal next year, he should get a medical redshirt this yr and that would give 4 yrs to see what kind an offer he would get.
He will next year also , n.car or NC.st .guys who are good should be wrestling some where. In which case, why hasn't Sealey hit the portal?
He’s been wrestling long enough this year to overcome the “on the couch” excuse. This is in his head, IMO. He has doubt late in a match and shows distraction. Tough to move those feet when you are talking to them in your head.Davis looks and does hold his own in the first period. Just brought his name as a potential red shirt if trying to find a spot for Ono if he wants to go that light .Lilledahl isn't moving up any time soon.
Rutgers would be crazy not to grab Pritzlaff and find an admin job for Goody.Good thing there was a Columbia wrestling photographer on hand to fully capture Lockett getting decked.

His big wins came off him capitalizing on other's shots. Keuter now knows this, so he never attempted a shot in B1G or NCAA. Cole needs to take a bunch of half shots and use movement to force his opponent to take a shot or get hit with stalling.Cole's inability to finish a shot is frustrating to watch at times. He's got some work to do on the backside tomorrow and hopefully Saturday. Then he needs to really increase his strength this offseason.
This made me laugh!Lighten up Batman.
Yeah - That was a tearful mess. These guys all care so much and become overly invested in getting the “W”. DT will have to coach Lockett up for today’s consi action. Coaching a guy after a loss is something that Cael does very well ….. of course he’s built a deep culture that places “getting better” as a very high priority. I wonder if DT can do the same?? If so, he’ll be a great coach! If not, he’ll be a slightly better version of Brands. Some speculated they did when Lockett got pinned and threw his headgear
Terrible anglesDoes kennedy think pushing is wrestling. How have they not taught him to get a take down yet
Don't you appreciate someone speaking for you?lolI disagree. There was a lot of hand wringing and gnashing of teeth here when Hendrickson won it over CStar last season.
Mike McMullan. Sorry if already posted.I missed it earlier......who is announcing with Sparks on MatCast?
Can someone slip JB a pronunciation guide to tricky wrestlers' names? Gaj is killing me.149: #20 Lamer (Nebraska) leading #4 Gaj (VT), 3-1, after 2 periods
He’s not near as bad as Basch or guys like Tim Johnson. Anything other than the Irish/English/German trinity of last names and they are lostCan someone slip JB a pronunciation guide to tricky wrestlers' names? Gaj is killing me.
I sort of feel Rutgers decided not to go that direction, hence Pritzlaff and crew departed for Columbia. Personally, I said Goodale should have been replaced by Donnie about 8 years ago.Rutgers would be crazy not to grab Pritzlaff and find an admin job for Goody.
if anyone thinks Cole can’t or won’t get bigger need only look at Mike before he tried to get bigger….and his weight now. He might not be above 190.Mike McMullan. Sorry if already posted.
Maybe Blaze, but Ono is too short for 141. I am not saying he can't win matches at 141, but he would have trouble with taller wrestlers. On the bench? Lilledahl, blaze, ono next year.
Yet, you projected him as a potential replacement at 141 ...Lilledahl isn't moving up any time soon.
Ryan is in the running for Outstanding Coach of the Tournament. Mendez styling his way to the finals will lock it up for him.Ohio State has only 4 in the quarters.

Copy that. I don't think I said anything that wasn't factual. Just curious as to why the snarking crap at the end. Be a good human. It was a joke about you jinxing them. Lighten up Batman.

So the hodge is for the entire season. Mendez has 3 decision wins this year thats not dominant mm has 0 until just now in a quarters match. My point is that it's about the approach toward winning the Hodge. It's a judgment award, in which subjectivity plays a role. Thus, the manner and "style" that a wrestler wins makes a difference. When MM is a beast scoring at will, that's some nice style points for a Hodge. Quick falls are also style points. Mendez got a TF in approximately 2 minutes of the 1st period today. That's impressive and what I consider style points. Does that make sense? If I use the wrong terminology, my fault. Just trying to be a contributor to the board. I'm not an expert in the sport of wrestling, but I have fallen in love with it. Give me a break.
Yeah. It was the Lehigh kid I was thinking of.Mirasola beat Mora in the dual meet 5-2.
