Mercyhurst, edinboro, clarion. Hell, cathedral prep would do well to put him on staff or just give him the job in the future.
I could see him taking over for Hahesy tbh. I know he’s been super close with Mitcham at Union City too being that they really helped him get his start. From what I’ve been told, he wants to take over his family’s business which I think is either outside Union City or Summit so any are possible

PSU Matches on Saturday (Session V & VI)

125 Final: #1 seed Luke Lilledahl vs. #10 seed Marc-Anthony McGowan (Princeton)

133 Consolation Semi: #3 seed Marcus Blaze vs. #15 seed Tyler Knox (Stanford)

149 Final: #1 seed Shayne Van Ness vs. #10 seed Aden Valencia (Stanford)

157 Consolation Semi: #1 seed P.J. Duke vs. #7 seed Kannon Webster (Illinois)

165 Final: #1 seed Mitchell Mesenbrink vs. #3 seed Mikey Caliendo (Iowa)

174 Final: #1 seed Levi Haines vs. #3 seed Christopher Minto (Nebraska)

184 Final: #1 seed Rocco Welsh vs. #3 seed Max McEnelly (Minnesota)

197 Final: #1 seed Josh Barr vs. #7 seed Cody Merrill (Oklahoma St.)

The Consolation Semis will be in Session V, while the Finals will be in Session VI

Blaze and Duke will have two matches. If they win their Consolation Semis, then they'll wrestle in the Consolation Final for 3rd place. If either of them lose, then they'll wrestle in the 5th Place match.

OkST has 4 freshmen in the finals. Pretty wild
Nobody wants to hear it, but '28 is probably going to get interesting.

I'm as bewildered as everyone else about the PJ match. Horrible officiating, but I thought Duke was going to walk through Robideau and he just didn't. The way he looked through Big-10's and the first 3 rounds, I was Messenbrink/Barr certain that he was going to be in the finals. Sucks that him and Blaze finish the season having only lost in TB; hopefully it's a lesson learned.

For lebeauff would likely not be able to pull that hire off but talk about a great small program that cranks out great kids and wrestlers...If he did that, I'd pull an old reynolds wrestling p.o box and drive my boys to waterford for school lmao

Bittersweet semi’s (mostly sweet), considering two were left there. Marcus, fairly. PJ, not so much. Who the f stops a cradle/TD in the middle of its execution? A ref damn well shouldn’t. Nor should a brick.
Very interested in how these true freshmen handle their disappoint on tomorrow’s undercard.
The pure delight I’m sure we all loved was not one, but two Ferrari’s losing. :)

Ferrari just got a good old American style butt whipping
Well, one imported from Cuba anyway.

PJ showed him too much respect. It was obvious to me that Robideau was wrestling to get into deep waters. He knows he has a better gas tank. Duke Obliged. This said, Duke got screwed when the whistle took away his advantageous position.

Once again, I think the mat ref was absolutely correct to stop the action and call the takedown when he did. In fact, if anything, he gave a couple of seconds for "reaction time" before calling it. As soon as the cradle was locked and Robideau was on his hip, it was a takedown and action is immediately stopped in sudden victory. It would be different if Robideau had been taken to his back DURING the takedown, but that wasn't the case. The failure here was with the review and not with the mat ref. I'm still spitting mad about this. And I almost hate to say it because I've never been "that guy", but you almost wonder if the fix wasn't in, because I can't imagine why or how the review officials could have overturned that given the totality of circumstances involved. I want the NCAA to answer to this and anything other than a complete mea culpa, we were wrong won't be satisfactory.

Make any argument you want, or excuse, it doesn't matter. In SV, when you have your opponent in a cradle, on his back, that is a TD. End of story. When the red stops you from pinning your opponent, end of story. It shouldn't even be reviewable. As a ref, you literally stopped PJ from pinning his opponent. Im absolutely done with this ******** and nonsense. There is no explaining this, PJ got raped from an actual victory. F these refs.
Don't disagree.

So close to clinching tonight, but it’s way over. Time to shoot for records - most titlists (need all 6) and points record

Assuming you mean 27-28 season I’d say no especially if Ono has two years eligibility

Good luck beating a collection including following: (Too early to specify weights and wrestlers)

I know we should all be thrilled with 6 in the finals, but I'm still sick for PJ. Horrible ending that should never happen at this world class level of folkstyle wrestling.
P.S. Is 6 in the finals a record?

I believe it ties our record.

And, if anyone was paying attention and not that it really matters, but had PJ been rightfully given the takedown and win, the team title would now be locked. It will be in the consolations tomorrow I believe anyway, but still.....bastards.

Taylor will be one of the least impressive non-HWY 2x (at least) champions in NCAA history.
Taylor's style is not appealing, but he's very good at what he does. As noted earlier, he also has a real knack for getting clutch TDs at the end of a match.
