Sounds so stupid, but I genuinely had a poor night's sleep because of Duke. He has been my favorite guy to watch this season. Except for a handful of matches this season, he just physically imposed his will on opponents; the real world version of Brian Schute. I basically penciled him in to major his way through the tournament. In another thread I think I gave Blaze a 10% chance of standing atop the podium this weekend, so his loss didn't surprise me.Good morning. I slept on it. Still don't like. Lol Time will tell but his issue isn't the ability to get on offense, or lack of talent or strength or size or anything. It's game plan and style. He and duke both learned a brutal lesson at the worst time. Never let your opponent take it to SV. I'll stay bullish on blaze. Especially cause he may be the only one from the group of freshman that can even hold 133 long term.
Well, it worked really well in the 90’s when I was hearing it.That's what the Brands teach. It still works just not as well as it used to.
One of them - the least impressive of the bunch - is a redshirt. There's no denying it, Forrest and Vega are problems moving forward.Redshirt
Call me crazy but i feel caliendo has been preparing for this match all year look for a close oneMesenbrink exists.
Yes, but I’m sure others are saying Blaze and Duke are problems moving forward and PSU returns the entire lineup next year minus Levi. PSU will be fine. Will the team race be a little closer? Yes, most likely. Will the final results be different, probably not.One of them - the least impressive of the bunch - is a redshirt. The mat ref made 2 errors , number 1 he called a take down that according to review was not a take down and 2 he called it to early not allowing pj's to improve his position to take any doubt of it being a takedown.if this wasn't over time it probably would have been a 7 pt move.I addressed this earlier.
In college (and HS; that was changed @ 2 years ago to match college rules), in sudden victory, you make the call to stop the match when points are attained by one of the wrestlers. The ONLY exception is if the defensive wrestler is in near-fall criteria. If they are, so as not to disadvantage the offensive wrestler's team from picking up bonus points, you don't stop the match. If a pin is attained, then you stop it then. If the defensive wrestler goes out of near-fall criteria, you stop it then.
As Robideau was not in near-fall criteria when the ref determined that a TD had been attained by Duke, he would have been wrong to not blow the whistle, and let the match continue.
Next year's team may break the points record for a 3rd consecutive year. Then the reviewers complicated the error by overturning a TD. At that point Duke was emotionally done. At a minimum, a rule change is necessary to allow the action to continue in OT. In that sequence occurs in regulation, action continues and most likely Duke has a 7 point move. The mat ref made 2 errors , number 1 he called a take down that according to review was not a take down and 2 he called it to early not allowing pj's to improve his position to take any doubt of it being a takedown.if this wasn't over time it probably would have been a 7 pt move.
Like a newspaper retraction 3 days later on page 17Small consolation for Duke.
I agree, but these OK St freshman may run out of eligibility before they get a crack at a team title. The team race may be closer, but how much closer?Next year's team may break the points record for a 3rd consecutive year. '28 is going to be closer than it has been in a while.
Now that DT is filling the roster completely, it’ll be a battle. You might have both teams scoring 150+ very soon. Forrest is a no-doubter champion or finalist with 25+ point potential every year - like Mitchell. He’s different from a Vega who, while excellent, is not that same level of monster in a tournament setting. I think we have some guys like James who will take over the bonus point mantle from Mitchell when needed - and we’ll need to keep signing guys like that. One of them - the least impressive of the bunch - is a redshirt. There's no denying it, Forrest and Vega are problems moving forward.

Who was the ref? I don’t want to see him tonight. He should’ve allowed to take part in the finals. The mat ref made 2 errors , number 1 he called a take down that according to review was not a take down and 2 he called it to early not allowing pj's to improve his position to take any doubt of it being a takedown.if this wasn't over time it probably would have been a 7 pt move.
Cunningham beat the guy from American who aa'd. Don't know where yet.You forgot Sidun, James, Cunningham, and some others
Unfortunately their are multiple guys on the roster that can AA, but the guys a head of them are some of the best in the world not just the NCAAsCunningham beat the guy from American who aa'd. Don't know where yet.
Not only that, but he appears to be the most under developed (physically) of all of them.Really? It isn't like Davino has done much to him...He's older and has an extra year in a college room. I will wager a lot that blaze has a substantially higher ceiling than Davino. Kids younger than Jax Forrest. Hell, he's two months younger than bo basset.
My glasses aren’t tinted blue, Blaze lost, couldn’t finish a takedown, PJ was flat out robbed, I don’t give a darn, in my mind, which counts for nothing, PJ won.Duke in that match reminded me of Kasak last year against Joey Blaze. You knew he was the better wrestler but lost. And both of them handed Taylor a Natty in the process.
It has been so bad during this tournament that they would have to come up a few levels to get to horrendous!!Officials absolutely ate their whistles on stall calls particularly Ok st. Just horrendous.
Where does Landon Sidun fit in?Assuming you mean 27-28 season I’d say no especially if Ono has two years eligibility
Good luck beating a collection including following: (Too early to specify weights and wrestlers)
luke
Ono
Blaze
Desmond
Shepherd
Kasak
Duke
James
Henckel
Welsh
Barr
Mirasola
Don't have to be an Iowa fan like CorbyYou stand up for your team! You go boy.
I was 2 rows off the mat, thought PJ had a cradle, if he did I guess the ref should have let it continue, most refs I see let the match continue for possible bonus points, pin. I assume then that PJ didn’t have the cradle locked up but was certainly in great position for the takedown. I see no reason for reaction time to be involved. What I want to know is did the revue simply say no control? In other words the ref made a terrible mistake for blowing the whistle, I also think the ref made a 2nd mistake because it sure as heck looked to me like PJ was on the verge of back points. To me it was a situation that the ref made 2 mistakes not one as you claim.I addressed this earlier.

Hence the reason that some are wondering if betting is somehow having an impact! Not saying so, but it makes you wonder.Once again, I think the mat ref was absolutely correct to stop the action and call the takedown when he did. In fact, if anything, he gave a couple of seconds for "reaction time" before calling it. As soon as the cradle was locked and Robideau was on his hip, it was a takedown and action is immediately stopped in sudden victory. It would be different if Robideau had been taken to his back DURING the takedown, but that wasn't the case. The failure here was with the review and not with the mat ref. I'm still spitting mad about this. And I almost hate to say it because I've never been "that guy", but you almost wonder if the fix wasn't in, because I can't imagine why or how the review officials could have overturned that given the totality of circumstances involved. I want the NCAA to answer to this and anything other than a complete mea culpa, we were wrong won't be satisfactory.
In fairness it should be more like 2 freshman in the final vs our 0.4 freshman in the final vs our 0. Regardless of their style it is a statement.
There have been refs that have been wrong in college and h.s. both this year.I addressed this earlier.

Redshirt 27-28 during Luke’s senior year and start 28–29 is my guessWhere does Landon Sidun fit in?
Davino is not a true freshman. His redshirt year gave him a leg up.
Understand that, but still 1 of 4 eligibility referring to Okie State wrestlers. Redshirt most definitely helps maturation process.Davino is not a true freshman. His redshirt year gave him a leg up.
I agree. It's been really ******* great, but it will be even moreso when we can beat DT each year. Rivalry makes it that much more exciting. How fun is it already to be beat Manning, Tan Tom, and the Brands. Add DT to the mix and it will be that much better.Competition is a good thing. Penn State wrestlers will be better for it.
Victor? Driggs?Far east side of the state. In the shadows of the Tetons.
He prayed before the match and got his answerI thoroughly enjoyed watch AJ's ego get slammed twice by Batista after he tried ***** slapping. #Noprayerafterwardthough
FIFY. I know, I know, he gives money to the state of OK wrestling. Sure, and I've got some wonderful beachfront property in Stillwater to sell.Chad Richison and Okie St are threats to our future dominance.
