Exactly. People just the panties all wadded up on days like today
Mine are very much wadded up right now. But we have seen many teams go from missing a bowl or being mid tier just last year to being in the top 20 and playoff contending this season all due to the portal and progress. Not saying it will happen for us, but I'm not gonna write us off just yet.

I know we will NOT go 3-0 to start the season. We will be lucky to win 4 games next year.

No bowl game. Will be lucky to get to 5 wins unless there are some serious coaching changes and we hit some home runs in the portal.

I would certainly hope so.
So would I. That's certainly a fireable record in year 4 of the program. I just have no faith in our leadership to do that and even if they do I really don't have faith they'd make the right decision on who will lead us going forward.

5 is the absolute ceiling. Wheels are going to come off early. Ohio State and Indiana come to Lincoln to **** in our mouths.

I'm seeing a 2007 type debacle. I can see the team giving up on Rhule after our first beating and getting blown out multiple times.

As a matter of fact, I am not so sure we haven't seen that transpire this year, to an extent.
I commented during the game I was getting 2007 KU vibes

So we have 70 players who are Freshmen or Sophs. Apparently the vast majority were not good enough to help this years team. If your drinking the Ruhle Aid, they will be ready to go as Sophomore or Juniors. If your not drinking any Ruhle Aid and seriously doubt the coaching staff, and S & C program ability to develop players, then your probably not real excited about next year. At any rate I think 5-7 is possible. I see the Ohio game as a trap game. Their program seems to be on track and they seem to be a team that could pull off a win in Lincoln.

We will be cobbling together a team made up underclassmen, portal players, and being coached by a weak staff. 4-8 could easily happen. 5-7 is more likely and if everything falls right, and we actually win a rivalry game ( I know it is a longshot ) and go 6-6 and enjoy the Pin Stripe or Bush Beans bowl in Waco. Ruhle gets his 10 million. And life goes on. Wash, rinse repeat.

5-7 sounds right. Enjoy the bowl game this year because it’s likely there won’t be one next year.

No Michigan, no Penn State, no USC, no Wisconsin, no Minnesota. It's not THAT hard of a schedule.

The floor is 3 games. Sadly 7-5 seems to be the ceiling.
I think 8-4 is the ceiling but that's counting on (1) pulling an upset plus (2) beating Washington & Maryland at home and (3) winning at least two road games. Probably a less than 5% chance of doing all of that. Probably most likely result is five to six wins.

A lot depends on keeping all of our best players and bringing in some new starters. It would help greatly if the coaches could develop the team into a tougher, more physical and mentally tough team.

Overall it isn't that hard of a schedule but there are 4 for sure losses on that schedule. This year we didn't have one game on the schedule that should have been a for sure loss if we have a competent team. Gonna be difficult next year to get to 6 wins when you have 4 automatic losses and really probably 5. Need to go 6-2 in all the other games.

Omg. 8-4? Really? Really?.. Your w/l numbers are flipped. You're saying our current coaching staff has learned sooo much this year that they will do better next year. GTFOH.
If this coaching staff were listed in a column and next to their names you could choose either "loser" or "winner", only 1 coach would have "winner" circled. 1.

Can we label it a rebuild season if Matt never built a team in the first place? 🤷‍♂️

Matt will likely be 13-23 in conference play after next year in 4 years. That’s just inexcusable

but I do expect that a lot of next years two deep aren’t even on the team this year. university and Troy going to have to go balls to the wall in NIL transfer portal to protect its investment in Matt

I hope that everybody thoroughly enjoyed Rhule’s magical third season. It doesn’t get any better than that.

As husker football fans, it's continuous hell until the day we die I think.

I mean there's been maybe what, 4-5 exciting wins in the past 20 years?

You don’t even know what the team will look like? Why do you get so pissed at a poll guess when you don’t know the players and some of the coaches?

Too many variables to guess at the moment. Transfer portal. Possible coaching changes.

If all holds still, 7-5 again would be a miracle it seems.
The portal is not.gping to help us near enough to matter. Rhule has proven he has no clue about the portal and why would agents let thier players come here?

OL, were terrible, were going to magically fix it in 1 year? Why would any QB risk it? We need an elite QB. Notngoing to happen.

We will spend a ton of money on players who are not good enough to change games. Then Rhule amd the *** sucking media will put the full court press on how great we will be.

Like this year and the OL being the strength of the team. 🤣🤣

I could see 6-6 as best case scenario with current situation . Portal could change this or make it worse

7-5 will be a miracle. Without a doubt. I think Rhule’s days are numbered, it’s just a pretty big number right now.

It is just an extreme schedule. There should be five automatic wins...but the other seven we are going to have little chance. What is really sad about this year...Michigan, Penn State, Iowa, USC were all down or average for their expectations and it didn't matter. Sometimes I think it is best to just hope the other teams are good so we get exposed faster.

NE is in the B1G now. This is an average B1G schedule, not easy but could definitely be harder. NE needs to stop making excuses and just get better somehow.

NE was added to the B1G ~15 years ago primarily to improve the quality/depth of the conference in football (certainly not for academics) and NE has simply not delivered.

So you woke up New Years day and thought you would go over to the Nebraska free board and find forum posts to trigger Nebraska fans? You seem like a really mentally healthy guy. I am sure the Iowa Hawkeyes are proud to have people like you representing them.

Hey if Rhule goes 12-0 he’ll have a .500 overall record aka won’t have a losing coaching record.

Still blows my mind that a coach can have a losing record this long in his career and still be extended without showing success
