The front office has really made some questionable personnel decisions the last couple of years
Should have been let go at the end of last year.If they continue to play like this, Topper will not last all season. He might not make it to the All-Star break at this rate.
To be fair, he is working with what he was given. The lineup and bullpen are broken and Dombrowski did nothing to fix it in the offseason.Should have been let go at the end of last year.
They'll probably recover enough to compete for a wild card, but that team clearly is beginning to age out and the window is closing on a lot of their key players.
If the Pirates pitching stays healthy, they'll be in it to the end this season because their hitting has improved greatly; there are very few teams that have the starting rotation that the Pirates have.Agreed. A bunch of those NL Central teams will fade with time. Pirates and Cardinals aren’t making the playoffs, although I am happy for my handful of Pirates friends out there.
Let’s just start with ending this losing streak please.![]()
Had the Phillies kept Ranger Suarez they would have had a rotation to compete with anybody else. That pretty bad because those aging player's are signed for another 5 to 6 years. (Harper, Turner, Nola)They'll probably recover enough to compete for a wild card, but that team clearly is beginning to age out and the window is closing on a lot of their key players.
Those contracts aren’t going to age well, but at least they played on a lot of very good teams. Unless they can offload some of those contracts in the next year or two, which won’t be easy, they’re going to be constrained with what they can do, which means they’re probably looking at a few lean years. That pretty bad because those aging player's are signed for another 5 to 6 years.
