Yes. The Under Armour founder is a big supporter, but let’s be realistic. If an SEC school wants someone bad enough, they will get the fat cats to pony up the money.

For those interested, he had basically committed to PSU, and had given interviews to reporters that cover PSU and national recruiting, about his commitment. However, no articles were released, as is the custom, in advance of his announcement ceremony today.

Rutgers came in on Tuesday, with a big NIL offering. Cook informed PSU of this, to give them a chance to match it. PSU elected to not get into a bidding war for Cook.

PSU doesn't like to lose PA prospects they actively recruit. But they have several WR commitments already, and are in with quite a few other WR recruits. I don't know how high Cook was on PSU's board, but I believe he's a 3-star prospect at WR from On3.
