Talked today with a parent of a player from All-Iowa-Attack who lives close to Chloe near Duluth. Their daughter is very close with her and is the one who plays on All Iowa Attack with her. Was told that top 2 right now are UCONN and Kentucky. Sounds like distance isn't an issue and that the parents are willing to relocate to help her with any OCD/anxiety related struggles she may have. Obviously asked about the hawks, sounds like little interest at the current moment.
Take a grain of salt talking to people who think they know anything that isn't the person themselves.

As should anyone who isn't the person themselves making the decision. But that's the whole point of having a source. Gives you an educated guess.

I am hearing the days of Attack kids attending Iowa could be at an end. Currently, only one current player on the roster played with Attack (Journey Houston). "Sources" say Attack director is going the direction of if you have $$$$, we'll send kids your way. Attack doesn't seem interested in helping Iowa, let alone Iowa St. Appearances seem to favor Oklahoma and Nebraska lately. "Sources" add that bad blood was the result of this last portal cycle when Iowa didn't step up ($$$$) for former Attack kids in the portal, causing a riff.

I get the impression that Iowa is making a bigger effort with North Tartan recently. Could be coincidental.

Aside from Speiser what attack players would have been on Iowa's radar? Crump really never seemed interested in Iowa coming out of High School.

The director should always go in the direction of what is in the best interest of his players regardless of the schools involved, Money is one factor but not the only factor.

Unfortunately I have not tracked this in the past. It was something that was on my radar recently that I was surprised we're not getting more from AIA. I was even thinking we are missing out on North Tartan players as a secondary level.

There's at least 9 or 10 on the current roster. Some of these could still choose us some have already committed elsewhere. Ari Peterson I have an offer ? for yet.

That being said, I have very little notes on prior year players. However, if there are that many players from one AIA team, I suspect there's many from precious years (just taking an educated guess here coz of proximity and easier access to them).

Recent Misses:
Brinley Altenburg

Destiny Manyawu - https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/destiny-manyawu/

Mya Wilson (had a note of AIA at some point) - https://jrallstar.com/2026/03/fast-facts-with-mya-wilson/

Just off the top of my head from prior years, these two plus the two (Speiser & Crump) you already listed:
Ashlyn Koupal

I recall Addison Bjorn was on AIA at one time and I think there's more than these two.

For some reason, this page only shows up all white so I can't see what is listed here to find more players from past years.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I believe this is possibility a NIL issue also. After tracking the ins and outs of top teams since Bluder retired, I haven't liked the # of quality players needed to be a Final Four club. Brad had suggested we were a player at the very top. I no longer believe this after this last portal round.

It may be in prior years of why we couldn't add one more elite or 5 star to the roster. I'm not sold on this team yet. I was disappointed in not bringing in another top 3 point shooter against Top 50/25 teams.

I haven't finished my research on this, but up til now I have us ~in the middle of Top 10-20 teams. I was hoping we were closer to top 8 or better in NIL but I don't think that's the case now. Either that or we're overpaying on some where we can't get that added elite player to get back to the F4. I hope I'm wrong but I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up at S16.

I was mainly trying to think of AIA players in this past portal cycle that Iowa apparently didn't flash enough cash since Hawkbuck said he heard the riff manifested from this past portal cycle. IIRC Speiser was the only one Iowa kicked the tires on.

I recall Sean Sullivan talking about Iowa's portal additions and that they had a preset budget and stuck to it and didn't go ask Beth for more money. Seems they wanted to add a certain amount of players and slotted accordingly. Seems Speiser didn't fit into the budget.

Nicholson is the highest-ranked, she's #23 overall in ESPN's Super 60 in the 2028 class.

I'd take a bet on the latter. USA Basketball has her at 6'3".

As often as Khloe has visited we would hope she finally decides to committ.
I was going to post something to that effect as well. She sure seems very engaged with quite a few visits. A lot of Hawk fans in Quincy. Heck, Iowa City is closer to Quincy than Champaign. I have a good feeling about a Khloe IA commitment at some point.

I went through the the four pages and made a list of offers. I'm going to start with visitors this fall that visited previously. These four young ladies would make a heck of a class.

ESPN # 23 - Khloe Nicholson - 6'1" WF
Quincy, Illinois - visited in Feb. 20 and Oct. 3

ESPN #46 - Kinsley Ketterhagen 6'1" CG
Oostburg, WI - visited Jan. 1 and Sept. 6

St. Louis, MO - visited Aug. 5 and Sept. 6

#5 in Minnesota - Logan Miller - 6'4" PF
Andover, MN - visited Feb. 20 and Sept. 6

Jan needs to bring in a point guard in this class and has made numerous offers. List of offers:

ESPN #2 - Chloe Johnson - PG
Marshall, MN, hasn't visited in a long time, Kentucky and UConn are rumored

ESPN #18 - Jhaliana Guy - PG
Clinton, IA, reoffered and visited in August, rumored she may head to UCLA

ESPN #20 - Erin Thomas PG
Cincinnati, OH, offered this summer, no visit

ESPN #35 - Love Lei Best 5'6" PG
Taulatin, OR, offered this summer, no visit

ESPN #36 - Easton McCollough 5'9" PG
Farmington, AK - offered - no visited

ESPN #38 - Leah Dewitt 5'8" PG
Marietta, GA - hasn't visited, reminds me of Chit Chat

Other offers:

ESPN # 3 - Nyajuacni Riak - 6'2" F
Lafollette, WI - visited for a game but it has been quiet since, reminds me of Manyawu recruitment

ESPN # 9 - Amel Cook - 6'1" CG
LA, CA - offer, no visit

ESPN #22 - Maliya Hunter - 6'2" WF
Archbishop Mitty - offer, no visit

Eve Flower - 6'4" PF

They had the chance to offer a North Tartan player who lived 5 minutes away and didn't do it. We'll see if that ends up being a mistake or not.
