Ha, yeah, I never really understood why "shots on goal" was such an important stat. I mean, I get that there's a statistical correlation between the number of shots on goal and the number of goals scored, but 2 goals off 22 shots ain't great. And, I saw some highlights from the WC and it seems they use "shot on goal" pretty loosely. Someone might kick the ball in the general direction of the goal and miss it by 6 feet, but it's still called a shot on goal.
