..we're now about to face him as the starter in the Egg Bowl.

How's everybody feel about that?

Mullen tell Brunetti on the field during handshakes "I told you, you little 17er, you should have come to play for me"

He can also do the same with CJ and all those other little 17ing dipshits.

Considering Brunetti can't beat out Mackey or Stoudt, I feel confident.

He's 3rd string at best on our squad... I don't consider him a major loss at this point. If Brunetti had went with us, then we may have lost out on the Muppet Midget (even exchange) or Dak (advantage: Dak). The QB position would have been too crowded to have added Brunetti and not squeezed out someone else.<div>
</div><div>I saw Brunetti play against my high school alma mater in the 2009 state playoffs... he was an outstanding high school quarterback, but I'm not so sure he has the passing chops to cut it in the SEC. He is a gifted athlete, though. Whatever shot he had to make an impact at the next level was squandered when he transferred away from WVU.</div>

He's 5th string on our squad. Of the 4 QBs we have and the 3 UM has, he's in about a dead heat with Stoudt for last. So to answer the original question, I feel happy that Mullen couldn't sign him and had to replace him with Favre.

Farve is just as good, and I wouldn't trade Prescott for him either.

Brunetti rolled snake eyes coming out the gate.

He's a smaller Chris Relf with about the same accuracy on his arm but a weaker arm.

He's just not very good. If you had him, he would've transferred elsewhere by now, because he wouldn't be playing. We're down to him because Nutt has failed to recruit QBs for us, and whoever we hire is going to have to hope they can land a big time transfer and recruit the hell out of HS QBs to be ready to go when the transfer graduates.

ETA: From the few times I saw him play in high school and the few highlight tapes I watched of the guy I never understood the hype around him. He's turned out to be just what I expected he'd be as a college QB.

What I implied was that the opportunity cost to award Brunetti with a scholarship in 2009 would have been to withhold one from mini-Favre or possibly scare Prescott away in '10 given their similar skill sets.<div>
</div><div>If you suspend belief of what would have likely played out in reality if Brunetti took the scholly and you have 5 eligible QBs to pick from, then I agree with you. Dak compares the most directly to Brunetti of the guys we have on the roster but is a better athlete and slightly better arm.</div><div>
</div><div>Brunetti fits the mold of athletic QB that Dan has been coveting, but doesn't seem to have the intangibles at this level that Favre does or the athletic upside of Prescott. Brunetti should have stayed at West Virginia where he would have contended with Big East (later, Big XII) defenses that wouldn't have stunted his confidence.</div>

Theres a whole list of QB's he has sign. They just sucked!. Mazoli was the biggest mistake he made.

is the most dangerous one they have. I don't fear his arm, butI fear his arm more than any of the rest of them.

Stoudt throws it to the other team more than his own.

Great, play brunetti.

if he hadn't screwed Dan for WV after that glorious weekend trip up there, he'd be a RSF with a chance to start next year. I hope he gets the royal treatment.

The alternative would've been a year with Mackey and Stanley only, neither of which was worth a damn. We would've gone 2-10 last year as well. The only redeeming quality we had was Masoli on offense last year. Our offense put up good numbers last year because of Masoli, not because of Nutt or anyone else. Our defense was just pathetic. Though we were bad last year, we still had opportunities against a few teams. This year we've just been bad all around.
