All I have to say in regards to Franklin is not many of the Good PSU players followed him to VT, whereas almost every high end ISU player followed MC to PSU. Franklin landed a lot of potential candidates and backups. He got Grunk and Reynolds...that is about it for starters. You had several PSU starters for next year who are even from VA that stayed. I think MC is doing phenomenal so far, sure I would like a few more blue chip guys coming on board, but MC has only been on the job for a little over a month and had A LOT to do.
Please stop with the optimism... this board, and especially this thread, is not the place for such uplifting opinion/viewpoints :)

Exactly. I am a wait and see guy, just like I was when Franklin was hired. I thought he was a great hire at the beginning but it seemed like things were starting to unravel during the Covid years and IMO he needed to go when he basically checked out after the Oregon game.

I give CMC the benefit of the doubt and want to see a 4 year body of work, that is 4 recruiting classes, before passing judgement. Of course if in game coaching becomes a problem, I may pass judgment a little sooner. I was very happy to see him hired and thought he was a great fit for the program. He was left with a difficult situation, especially with what the BGJ minions did to the recruiting classes before they bolted for Blacksburg.

Gotta give franklin his flowers....what magic. Franklin would have chose death instead of giving this kid a meaningful snap, coupled with our terrible WR development and the kid follows him to VT. Unreal stuff
Plus didn't he say that Denmark couldn't block and that was a reason he didn't play?

I was thinking the same thing. The kid barely saw the field under Franklin. It's comical.

Agreed. Oh well. Hopefully he produces more there then he did here which isn't asking much. Why would anyone want to play receiver for Franklin.

Another guy PSU recruited coming out of HS. Left to him, he probably would have picked PSU, but some in his family decided otherwise.

He did play him and his first pass went through his hands and hit him in the facemask.

More and more convinced as the weeks go by: Franklin created a player-friendly, zero-accountability atmosphere for his guys, and that's what a lot of them want. "Oh, I don't have to practice? Don't have to go to class? I get a private room? Awesome. That's my coach."

VaTech just cut JMU a check for $800,000 to remove them from their schedule next year. Franklin continues his transparent strategy of being a conqueror of cupcakes. JMU just had a good season, Franklin panicked that they weren't soft enough of an opponent, and he convinced the school to buy them off rather than risk losing to them.

Man, I'm sorry, but anyone that's still on the fence about Franklin being shown the door... just look at what's going on in Hokie country right now. It's cartoonish.
