Period 2 - James turns a Weader single attempt into a pushout for 1 more to go up 4-0. James in on a shot, Weader catches James’ arm and looks like he’s going to get 2, but James shows some good D and spins around to get behind Weader to go up 6-0. James counters a Weader shot gets to a single and forces a step out to go up 7-0. James shows some nice scrambling and counters a Weader shot to get another step out to go up 8-0. Then gets the TF by exposing Weader on a scramble in short time.

James wins by TF 10-0.

James showed a nice mix of skills: counter wrestling, scrambling, nice defense and offense. There’s a lot to like about this kid.

Already a U17 Team USA member, Penn State Class of 2026 commit Jayden James will wrestle in the U20 74 kilogram finals opposite Ladarion Lockett of Oklahoma State after building an 8-0 lead before going on to beat N.C. State Class of 2025 signee Will Denny 10-8 in the challenge tournament final.

Hell of a day for him so far after blasting Sealey in the semis.

Jayden James sprinted out to an 8-0 lead in the 1st period, but William Denny scored 4 points late in the period.

James scored the 1st point in the 2nd period, to make it 9-4. Denny scored another 4 points late in the period to make it 9-8. Then Jayden with a point to make it 10-8. And Jayden held on to win the challenge tournament final, 10-8!!!
