While I have similar feelings on the subject, I saw some of the girls at the NWCA All Star Meet at Rec Hall a couple years ago. I have to admit I was impressed with the toughness and skill level.
Agreed, the ladies did show a lot of competitive fire. That said I would never go see a woman’s wrestling match on my own. I just have zero interest in women’s sports unless my child or a relative or a friend was personally competing in it. They’re just a less good version of the male version of the sport.

I think the data is pretty clear that the large majority of men would agree, even if many of them won't openly admit it.

I tried to check out the Iowa site and it appears as a pay site only, how can we enjoy the season as much if we’re forced to pay $120 to well you know. Is there a GoFundMe for Johnstonsteel so he could keep us apprised of the goings on over there.

I don't know how much of a minority I'm in but I have not gravitated to Women's wrestling. I'm 63 and have 2 daughters that played youth coed sports and had no issues with it. I just seem to have problems with the wrestling end of it . I did have one daughter suffer numerous concussions in b-ball and soccer that she still has side effects from it. Maybe that is part of my feelings.
Women’s wrestling is going to save men’s wrestling.

I fully support women sports in the fact that I agree that should be an option for them, but for me most sports watching stops when I lose the affiliation. I’m a Penn State graduate and fan. I watch Penn State football and wrestling. I honestly watch very little professional sports these days.

The thing that bugs me is that we’re told that we kinda have to like this stuff every now and then from certain folk. Whether it’s the sport of soccer in general or even worse women’s soccer. Or WNBA or whatever. I actually enjoy the traditional Olympic sports for both sexes, track and field, gymnastics, and weightlifting.

in most cases, those sports involved a time, distance, or wait. Obviously gymnastics is scored somewhat objectively, and the events vary between the sexes, but I still find them both very enjoyable.

At first I thought, huh? But then I realized there’s some potential for salt expansion in the youth area so it makes a little bit more sense now that I think about it.

U20 61kg Final- Marcus Blaze vs. Ahora Farhad Khateri (IRI)

It appears the wrasslin' season has returned to action! I missed the first couple days of this tournament, but here's Blaze's match.

Period 1:
Here we go! Hand fighting & tying up. Blaze presses forward a bit. Collar ties, hand fighting & snaps. Khateri gets to a leg, but Blaze fights out of it & keeps moving forward. Blaze has Khateri in the zone & on his knees. Stoppage & restart, no scoring. Tying up again. Blaze tries a throw by. Khateri gets a passivity warning. Blaze presses forward again & drives Khateri to the edge & out, 1-0. Back to neutral. Tying up & hand fighting. Khateri gets a 2nd passivity warning & goes on the clock. Blaze presses forward again, reaches for an ankle, but doesn't get there. Blaze takes Khateri out again, 2-0. Neutral restart. Blaze gets a shot clock point, 3-0. Blaze presses forward again. He shoots, but no luck. He has Khateri on the edge, but Khateri circles back in. Blaze keeps coming & gets another step out, 4-0. Blaze presses forward again & drives Khateri out, 5-0. 22-sec left. Khateri shoots & gets a leg, but Blaze fights him off. Back to their feet. Blaze reaches for a leg again, but no luck & that's how the period ends.

Period 2:
Back to action. Khateri reaches for a leg, but no luck. Tying up & hand fighting. Blaze presses forward, drops to a low single, elevates the leg & takes Khateri out, 6-0. Back to neutral. Tying up & hand fighting again. Khateri snaps & reaches for a leg, but can't finish. Khateri pushes forward. Blaze circles back to center. Blaze tries a drag, but can't finish. Blaze presses forward again. Snaps, hand fighting & collar ties. Khateri shoots, but no luck. He shoots again, but isn't close. Khateri tries a double, but no luck. Blaze drags. Khateri drops to a leg. They're on the mat & Blaze circles behind for the TD, 8-0. Blaze adds a gut for the tech!

Big board ranking aside, did we get the 1 2 and 3 prospect in Class of 2025?

Will's recent ascension is a lot like Mesenbrink winning silver after graduating and final big boards being release already.

Perhaps Cael's internal unshared big board is the best recruiting ranking of them all!
Well, you know. According to the genius that is HR, all Cael can do is recruit.

Welcome back! This San Diego wrestling fan sure could have used your play by play skills as I stayed up most the night the last 2 days trying to give live updates on the matches. I now humbly pass you the baton and sink back into message board obscurity :)

Nugent with the late comeback to take a 7-6 lead and get the fall at 5:49 to make the semis!
Dani Nugent and her sister Marisol single handedly made women's wrestling a thing at my high school. they could wipe the floor with some of the guys I knew on the team when I was there 15 years ago! very cool to see
