I don’t usually pay attention to or endorse interrupting good wrestling talk with extracurricular topics (unless of course it’s @amattaro posting pics of javelinas humping). But, I’ve gotta throw in an amen here.

This summer I discovered upstate NY. Wow! It’s truly gorgeous. The lush forests, farmlands, rolling hills, and picturesque small towns rival the beauties I’ve seen in the mountain west, west coast, and middle America.

NYC is to the rest of the state what Mount Doom is to Middle Earth. The state should’ve pursued de-annexation long ago.

If you’ve never been to the northern part of the state, put a road trip on your bucket list.
NYC is great, all of you have no frickin clue what you are talking about. How about we embrace how each area of the country is different and stop being *** holes.

Is funny how the folks in western NY don't even consider NYC part of the state.
We are partial to the Finger Lakes due to wineries. NY is filled with waterfalls and gorges. Wonderful

I was trying to make a funny dig at LA. Hopefully on your trips to Cali you got a chance to visit Yosemite, Kings Canyon, Sequoia, Monterey Bay etc and not just the cities. Yes, Pens off to a surprisingly great start!
Hiked Kings Canyon twice with my Brother some time ago. 4-6 day trips - carry it all in and out. Saw bears, deer and many other animals somewhat close. If you like to hike come on out to CA.

Late to the party here, but I thought I would add my thoughts to the mix. Luke is looking really good. At only 20 years of age he already has the following five age group World medals: 2025: U23 hopefully gold, 2024: U20 gold, 2023: U20 silver, 2022: U17 gold and 2021 Cadet silver.

PJ was looking great until Heybatov was able to pull in and trap PJ's arm and get those turns. Heybatov must be very strong to be able to pull in PJ's arm like that. As was mentioned, PJ rushed things after that when he still had enough time to methodically work his way back into the match. I need to remind myself that PJ hasn't even wrestled a college match yet. He is phenomenal for his age.

Mitch looked awesome this tournament, especially in his gold medal match. His comeback against Japan was impressive. He is at his best when he finds that proper balance between aggression and controlling ties/moving his opponent around to create angles on his shots. When he shoots haphazardly without controlling the ties, he sometimes gets caught underneath guys or gives up counter TDs. He is a very cerebral wrestler. In his gold medal match he made an immediate adjustment after his opponent scored the counter TD. He then reeled off twelve straight points.

Between the Senior World Championships and this tournament, Levi has surprised and impressed me. His style more closely resembles Eastern European wrestlers than your average American wrestler in that he is great at controlling center and aggressively hand fighting. His physicality, strength and the ability to get to the legs from tight quarters makes him a formidable opponent. It was also great to see him get a turn using the head between the thighs technique that so many wrestlers used at the World Championships.

One area I would love to see our wrestlers improve on is their par terre offense and defense. It seems like too many of our wrestlers don't even work for turns. In particular, I have noticed PJ doesn't put much effort into trying to score in par terre. Par terre defense cost both PJ and Josh this tournament, even though Josh's rib injury from that first gut wrench obviously played a critical part in that sequence.

I watched all the matches before reading this thread, but the same things you saw jumped out at me also. There sure has been a lot of whining by our opponents today. Feigned injury timeouts to catch a breather are out of control. Daudov is now on my list of least favorite wrestlers. He definitely picked the wrong wrestler to try his stunts on. Levi is just a bigger version of Zain when it comes to someone you are not going to intimidate or cause them to lose their composure. Rumor has it Daudov is still wandering around the arena looking for some cold spray for his knee. He probably needs the jumbo-sized can so he has enough to soothe his injured pride also. I guess his mat behavior has made me a little salty today : )

You missed something else important about upstate NY, it’s the birthplace of Lou Gramm. 😁

Probably on the front line right now.

Yeah, you and Epstein. So what!

Unwise to come over here and puff up your chest.

I have a low grade MBA, and at least I understand the concept of ROI. Better yet ROII, return on Iowa investment. Try calculating yours over the past few years. A fool and his money are easily parted.

Then again you are probably just some monkey pretending to be Bob
