I tried to catch it after getting bit, so I could identify which type it was, but it was smaller & too fast to catch. It found a hole or somewhere to hide, so no moccasins or dinner.
Sad news - Josh Barr is listed as injured on the UWW mat assignment page. 100% agree that he shouldn't take a risk. Best wishes to Josh for healing.

Never saw a Gila monster in AZ (yet) but I’ve seen some big kitties up close.
I live in AZ now. My boss got bit by a rattlesnake on the foot and nearly lost two toes. I tried to shame him into giving pictures but he didn’t comply.
Saw a lion in Colorado but never in AZ. Took a bobcat while hunting once.
I have seen 2 gila monsters! They are great.
finally, I go into the backyard every couple weeks to reduce the scorpion population. Wife got stung once in the kitchen, and a cat showed up with a fat lip one day, I’m sure it was a scorpion.
All that said, I love Arizona.

I lived in Southern AZ for a decade. It's a beautiful place. Lots of snake, scorpions, vinegaroons & tarantula hawks (wicked sting). I encountered antelope, coyotes, coatimundi, mountain lions, peccary & bobcats. I saw a black bear while driving through Fort Huachuca. But, my favorite part of AZ was the hummingbirds. Lots of hummers migrate through AZ & I photographed many varieties. I built a hummingbird garden & could have a couple dozen, or more, hummers swarming around the house all day long. The symphony of hummingbirds buzzing around was a sweet sound for the senses.

It's hard for me to imagine that they aren't given a caution or whatever is appropriate for the VERY slow returns to center (and yes, the whining and fake injuries as well). It really is clear that the PSU guys are MUCH better conditioned than the entire rest of the globe, but damn it, make them wrestle.

Morita shoots off the whistle. PJ locks around the head & they break. Back to hand fighting. PJ warned for fingers. Morita shoots off the whistle, but PJ easily evades. PJ gets a 2 on 1 & tries a trip, but no luck. PJ drops to an ankle, keeps working & finishes the TD, 9-3. Neutral restart. Morita comes forward. PJ tries to lock around the waist, then throws in a whizzer & time expires. PJ moves on to the semis.
