Steeler PR team in super spin mode today - obvious paid accounts either talking up how all in they are with McCarthy and/or mentioning how certain coaches bombed the interview (Shula especially). Steelers hired Tomlin 2.0 and are packaging it in Black and Gold nostalgia - so dumb. Art Rooney II reminds me of Cameron’s dad in Ferris Bueller - ā€˜a man with priorities so out of whack doesn’t deserve an automobile franchise this nice.’

This narrative always puzzles me. Can the guy coach football or not? I really don’t care if he didn’t knock out of the park in an interview. Now, if they think he is young and not ready to be a HC, I can understand that.

A team that lost the AFC Championship Game in a close game with a backup QB is cleaning house on offense. Interesting.

I didn’t see the Broncos much this season. Was their offense that bad? Wasn’t Nix a hero of the earth?
Bottom line is, Payton apparently is an a hole and his ego probably is projecting their loss on someone else other than his asinine decision to go for it on 4th down rather than take easy points with a backup QB.

Who was McCarthy’s DC in Dallas? That guy’s got this.

that's not likely. Dan Quinn was the DC under McCarthy for the Pokes, at least most of McCarthy's time there. I think Mike Zimmer was the DC at the end of his time. Quinn is currently the head coach of the Commanders, so he isn't taking a DC job. And Zimmer retired after the '24 season.

Make room for Zimmer. šŸ˜
