I suspect there's more to the story with the Bills. Allen seems to take the game on himself early and often and he's made some mistakes in big games. The defensive calls late were working and then they weren't the other day. Every year there is something. Kind of reminds me of Franklin -- good football but not good enough. I would have given McDermott one more year to shore up the roster but that's probably what they thought they have done the last couple of years.
I feel like I was living the same day over Saturdays and Sundays the past few years!

One fumble lost, the other was a strip sack so blame the WR who didn’t chip the DE and Dawkins who whiffed on the block.
I hear you. Mahomes, Brady, etc still find a way to overcome. Allen has not. He may never. Or perhaps he pulls an Elway and does it on the back half of his career after coming ip short in his prime.

And yet they still scored 30 pts. I get it about the turnovers, if none, would have scored 50. And he did it with Brandon Cooks and Mecole Hardman as part of the WR team. Without Allen the Bills win maybe 3 games a year.
I love Allen but the fumble at the end of the first half killed them. I still blame the coaching staff but he has to throw that ball away or slide if he does run

Any idea how much $$$$ McD gets to not show up for work?

his contract was for @ $8M per year, and he was signed through 2027. So, the Bills are still on the hook for @ $16M. If he signs with another team for less per year, then the Bill will owe him the difference. If he signs with another team for more per year, then the Bill won't owe him anything.

The only caveat to the above is the numbers listed are what has been commonly released. It's possible that there are clauses in the contract that deal with firing, but those have not been released.

Terry Pegula says "there's a need for a new structure within our leadership" to get to next level. Really didn't think McDermott was that much on the hot-seat. Franklin yes, Sean no.

I thought he was going to get fired if they didn't beat Jacksonville
Then I thought he was getting fired at the half yesterday--when it got to OT and they lost the way they did I thought he might survive but that seat is hot--can't waste Allen's prime any longer

It's definitely a sign of the times today. People want instant gratification. If you can't win today, tomorrow's not going to work. The answer is for any pro franchise to throw more money at players and coaches. Gone are the days of building a team from the ground up. Unfortunately, it's now that same way in upper tier college athletics.
As an Eagles fan, I'm damn happy about it. The Birds went from 7-9 in 2 consecutive seasons to SB champ in 2017. Then rebuilt again after going 4-11 in 2020 to go to 2 SBs and win 1. Thank you Howie.

So which team does Buffalo coach end up at? And is Matt Ryan cussing behind closed doors as he now has no chance to hire a quality HC? I saw some Falcons fans, as much as they love WR, already asking WTF was he thinking by hiring g the Browns’ HC reject.
