Wow is all i can say, has anyone seen this? This has gotta be one of the worst lists you can come up with, I guess hes playing the "who's worked with Mullen in the past" angle.

...he's grasping for straws but there's no obvious, viable possibility mentioned.

"Hey, look, I can use google to assemble a meaningless list of known coaching associates for Dan Mullen!"

Well, whoopty-f'n-do, Brad.

we could hire the Baltimore Ravens' DC away from them for the same position in Starkville? Great insight.

That was the first time I've read 2HD's blog since he went on his tirade against "message board posters." I'll go back to waiting on Veazey to return.

I haven't missed him. And I can see why. If he was looking at people associated with Mullen, how about Dan McCarney? Former Iowa State coach and current defensive line/asst. head coach at UF. I was surprised that Mullen didn't try to get him last year.

who makes a list of unlikely candidates? That was just stupid and a waste of about 5 minutes of my life.

I was thinking Rex Ryan and maybe Brian Billick. Why try and coach a QB that doesn't know how to slide when you can coach one that can't see over the line.

1) Charlie Strong. The connection. - Was Florida's Defense Coordinator while Mullen was in Gainesville. Where is he now? Just accepted the head coaching job at Louisville. Would he come? Possible, but unlikely. However, he might be looking to get back in the SEC.

2) Houston Nutt. The connection. - Received world class *** kicking by Mullen in the Egg Bowl. Where is he now? Head coach at Ole Miss. Would he come? Probaby not, but he might flirt with the position to get a raise.

3) Jesus Christ, Son of Man. The connection. - Mullen's personal lord and savior. Also was a volunteer assistant at Notre Dame with Mullen, coaching linebackers. Where is he now? Sitting at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, judging the quick and the dead. Would he come? Doubtful. He has a good gig with the judging and all. Plus, it's always been assumed that he is an Ole Miss fan, since his Dad helped them in 1983.

one of the stupidest lists I have ever seen. Head coaches, a NFL DC, and Rippon? Somebody pays this guy to cover sports?
