He's making changes. He's coaching players up and recruiting better than we have in the last 8 years. Change for change sake is stupid, Firing Banker because Iowa had exactly 3 plays in the game that were successful is stupid. You really want to be someone who looks stupid?

Pennsy - I really have to disagree with you on some points. I agree that we arent the best coached team in some areas but we are woefully short in quality athletes across the board. Our LBs are serviceable at best. Our DEs are very average on a good day. you should expect to see some great athletic plays occasionally but they are rare. there are so may places for this team to improve it is hard to know where to start.

As bad as the offense is playing today, this game falls on the defense and their lack of tackling.
O line is not creating good passing lanes and TA doesn't move around well enough within the pocket to create his s own lane.
Meh, lack of execution on the offense has been just as much to blame. Tommy has tried for the home run way too often. We've had open receivers. He's never looked for them. This should be 26-24, or 31-26 right now.

I'm not kidding when I say MJ was a better quarterback. Less of a cannon, but better feel for the offense
agreed. But never looking off his receiver doesn't help. The Dline can see where he's throwing it every time.
If I'm comparing the success of this season to our teams in the 80's and 90's, yes, this would be a disappointing season. But this isn't the 80's or 90's and the program is completely different now. Considering our level of talent now and even the coaching, I just don't know how you are disappointed with this season.
The bigger question is, why are four Hawkeye players down there waiting for him half a second after he catches the ball?
