Radford at Honaker will be a good game.Radford's speed on that turf field will be fast. They may want to take Coach Cormany with them to run the fast break. If Haysi takes care of business today them and Covington will be good also. Don't know much about PH Glade Springs but Galax has been on a roll. Auburn at GW will be close. Which game would be the best to watch? I think Radford at Honaker will be a great game to attend.Whats everybody's opinion?

I'm picking Essex, Colonial Beach and Altavista to win their 2nd round games. The one I'm not sure on is #6 Parry McCluer at #3 Washington & Lee. Reason why.....Not sure how strong PM's defense is. I know PM's offense will score on W&L's defense, but can W&L's offense do the same against PM's defense? I'll give the edge to PM because of Dawson. He will be the best RB W&L has seen this year. Him running behind their solid O line will be hard to stop. BUT..if PM's defense is just an average D, W&L might give them a run.

Agree. Really good games. Wouldn't be surprised if both Radford and Covington pull "upsets."

I think GW handles Auburn and Galax handles Glade Springs.

As for the East, i'm really curious to see how PM will fare.

Down year for

On the contrary it was just a down year for most of the schools on PM's schedule. Bath and Rockbridge are usually pretty good but both went winless this year. James River was down this year as well. Craig *would* have helped had they kept Montcalm on the schedule for rider points, but they chose to play "Mom and Dad's Bible School" instead. My only real gripe was Roanoke Catholic, ironically they're now the State Champs in the private ranks. But as someone already pointed out, it still would have been difficult to jump CB and Surry.

No biggie. It is what it is. PM plays better on the road anyway IMO. And no one in BV is griping about it (surprisingly lol).

Re: Down year for

That is understandable, nobody can predict it all the time after all they are high school kids. I would love to see more of these type games during the year. I have traveled the state to games in different region for years. It would make it so much more fun to have a W&L vs Bath or Haysi game during the season.

Re: Down year for

It was crazy how far the James River was this year. All PM can do is play the team lined up on the other side of the ball.

Re: Down year for

James River was an odd crew this year. They gave East Rock and Fort Chiswell a fight. Knocked off Greenbrier West. And then somehow got hammered by most everyone else.

Bath are the ones who surprised me the most. It's hard to believe that that is their first ever winless season..at least going back to the Great Depression era when they were Valley High.
