SEC STATS
The two biggest stats I see, in regards to the matchup with LSU tomorrow, are:
1.) Penalties - We are dead last in penalties thus far... 25 total for an average of 93.7 yards per game... NOT ACCEPTABLE... I hope this point has been made throughout the week...
2.) Sacks Allowed - LSU has given up 5 sacks through three games... That's three games against; Washington, Vanderbilt and UL Lafayette... Hopefully McPhee continues to emerge and can have a big day in that Tiger backfield tomorrow...
Didn't look for prior year stats to make the comparison but I would guess that, throughout all the categories, we are alot farther ahead at this point this year than we were at this point during any of the previous five years...
I do not expect to win this game simply because it's LSU and we all know, IT IS LSU, but I do feel like we will be in the game well into the fourth quarter and could have a shot to pull it out... And who knows, the S Car win against the Rebs could have been the cure to our 8 year suspension from the College Football God's due to hosting the first game post 9/11... I, for one, sure hope to hell so... It's been long enough...
And one more to throw out there that kinda caught me by surprise, just because I hadn't really thought about it, but: we are 4 for 4 on fourth downs...
