I think Tyler Russell is the best one of the three but I still don't understand Garrett bolting for Lsu with the family ties being so strong Msu. To be honest I am shocked Lsu went after Garrett, maybe he will be the real thing but from the clips I saw of him I don't get it. Does anyone know the real story behind Garrett committing to Lsu?
I wonder how many of the so called dirty dozen will have the grades and I don't recall having 3 white QB's making the dozen. I've never put a whole lot of stock in the clarion ledger and their so called top picks, so it will be interesting to see who gets in and who actually makes it as a D1 player, if history holds up it want be that great.</p>

and they don't understand why Garrett signed with LSU either. They don't think he'll get much playing time at QB. What I don't understand is why LSU offered him.

I will be shocked if Garrett still has an offer on signing day with LSU.

If he does, it's because he does a lot better this year than before.

to get the hint. It should be interesting if that happens, to see what he does. I don't know if State would still be interested. As a matter of fact, his interest in State may have been more one sided than it was thought to be. I don't recall Croom expressing any dismay when he announced his intentions to sign with LSU.

damn sure had comments when Johns committed to Alabama. BTW, your use of the word "alliteration" is wrongfully used in your reply...there's a tome named "dictionary" just for info.

This thread raises an interesting question- what IF Chris Garrett's offer from LSU gets pulled? It's possible.

I believe that IF that happened, he would probably try to come back to MSU, and then the real question would be, would give his scholarship back to him? I could see Croom telling him to walk-on or go to ICC. That probably will piss Garrett off and he'll go to Ole Miss or Bama, probably Ole Miss.

And to answer why he broke his commitment in the first place, I don't know, but I believe it was probably because Croom or someone told him he would be the only QB we recruit and that the job would be his when Carroll graduates, and then we went out and got Tyler Russell. I don't know him personally, but he sounds like one of those people that wants stuff handed to him and he doesn't want to compete and earn it for fear that he might get beat out.

I have a feeling that if he does come to State, he will be Todd Jordan II. He probably will be a back up until his fifth year or transfer somewhere else. If he's worth a darn, I'd like to have him, but it sounds like he needs to grow a sac.

greyshirt Garrett. I don't see them pulling his offer but I do see them asking him to wait.

and then broke that promise within a couple of weeks. This is the same man who won't even promise a Jimmy Johns or Marquez Phillips (may have the name wrong, but I'm thinking of the Oxford QB being recruited as a WR) they can compete for the QB job at MSU. I think that whole "Croom promised Garrett he'd be the only QB then went and got a commitment from Russell" theory is ********.

Russell didn't commit to State until after Garrett had switched to LSU if I'm remembering correctly. I'm sure Croom was trying to get Russell before Garrett switched, but he did not have a committment from Russell until after Garrett switched.

stating you would be shocked if he had an offer to saying that he will not have an offer. What are you basing this on? Has someone told you this or just a gut feeling? Also, Garrett has stated that he plans on enrolling at LSU in January so that would seem to eliminate the greyshirt option. I don't understand why LSU would offer so early if they did not want him or there was a possibility they might change their minds. I mean come on, its LSU.

What do I base it on? He's simply not that good in my opinion. He certainly has the potential, but LSU doesn't have to sign based on potential.

It is my opinion Davis, Bumphis and the other D1 WR (can't remember his name) have helped him much more than he has them.

As for the above that coaches can't comment.....they do all the time.....and it's legal----off the record.

Garrett looks to me like Todd Jordan II. Big, tall, strong arm, mediocre accuracy, mediocre TD/INT ratio, not mobile, an adequate QB but nothing to get excited about.
