I like seeing Ben get a start. He really started to come on strong at the end of last year out of the pen. He was almost as good as Girodo, just a righty instead. The bullpen this year is just going to be sick. I wonder what the chance is one of the freshmen start Sunday?

It's always been Bracewell's ability to stay in games that have hurt him in the past. I loved the idea of him being a set up guy last year.

He was effective, but he didn't dominate righties nearly has much as Girodo dominated lefties. And that is purely a reflection on what Girodo did last year. Lefties could not hit him, period.

Ben has earned it. It has not been an easy road for him. And he was unbelievable down the stretch last year. Hard to believe he was part of Cohen's first class.

Yep. I wouldn't read too much into who starts and who relives this weekend. We'll get a lot of innings for a lot of pitchers. And we'll have a lot of depth. I really like Cohen's strategy of playing a lot of 4-game weekends in the pre-conference schedule.

Just a filthy, filthy, group of pitchers. And I may be forgetting a few, these are off the top of my head. Would love to have had one more year for Girodo. (I would have had to use sarcastericks if I said that a year ago at this time.)

Girado didn't really shock me as much as he did everyone else. I always thought he had much better stuff than his numbers indicated. Really glad to see he finally put it all together.

Watching Woodruff his true freshman year I was real excited. If he's at the top of his game and healthy, he's excellent. Fitts is kinda interesting, but I bet Cohen plans on getting Ross Mitchell in the games in the 6-8th innings and let Holder close them out. Bracewell has always seemed to have good stuff when he puts it all together to me. He took a step forward second half of last year. I like him here. If he doesn't get it done, Cohen will reach for another solid pitcher.

He was never garbage and Cohen obviously liked him because he played a lot early in his career. He definitely suprised me this year. I thought his JR he became a good pitcher, but down the stretch for us, he literally became un-hittable in certain situations.
