This team really needs a PG. And this team if they get back to a full team without medical problems will be 10-15 points better. Now if that’s what you call an excuse so be it. What this team will be with healthy players is nothing like the tonight. We have yet to see our true team play.

We had a nice true point guard signed but then decided we needed to add 50 players to the roster and ran them off.
Lowe has dislocated his shoulder twice. He's not a piece we can count on this year. Basically every fan thought it was a head scratcher to only get one PG the year after both of our PGs suffered from injury, but we just had to get more mid front court players.
And to go into a season with only 1 true PG, especially after last year, is ignorant
I think the problem there is even the most optimistic of us do not KNOW that Pope can handle the job. He hasn’t shown anything to say he can, as much as I wish that wasn’t so. This is why he won’t get benefit of the doubt because fans need him to prove he is that dude. Right now, the Pope supporters look pathetic. And that’s me. I get the injury thing, but it won’t matter —- this is his “internship” and he has shown he can’t get it done so far.

people talk about Quaintance like he's gonna step in and be Shaq. If you've never played then you aren't a "missing" starter, you are theoretical. Shaedon Sharpe wasn't a "missing" starter.
You do know UNC was missing their PG too right? And he was a high 30s 4 star recruit and solid player for them, unlike our Iverson wannabe volume shooter.
Here's the crazy part. UNC wanted Jasper Johnson to be their freshman point guard, and UNC tried to get Lowe out of the portal. When UNC missed on Lowe, they threw a bag at Kyan Evans (who was terrible tonight.) When UNC missed on Jasper Johnson, they got their backup option Derek Dixon. Dixon somehow ended up the best point guard in this Blue Blood matchup, despite being the lowest guy on the totem pole.
Mo adds nothing offensively, Lowe? Maybe a slight uptick in efficiency, but he is no super star. JQ? Enjoy the draft.
Trimble isn't a point guard. He's an off guard. Yes we miss him. But he doesn't run our offense.

I don’t think it’s possible to put into words how bad Jasper Johnson is and how much that is impacting things. A top 30 combo guard prospect in a historic class should be functional. He’s abysmal.

Why does Pope have so many injuries? Ask yourself why: Is he simply recruiting players who are easily injured? Is this all he can recruit, desperate guys with injuries? Are his practices too strenuous on the body? Is our strength and conditioning p*ss poor? Is he or the players themselves using injuries as an excuse to hide the real meaning behind why they aren’t playing?

They are always missing multiple starters. It's the norm. If Mo & JQ come back, someone else will be hurt.
I don't know. The new UNC General Manager was very high on Lowe. And I saw him a lot in the ACC. He seemed on the verge of being special. I don't remember any shoulder injuries before this year. Seems like you guys really got unlucky.

IDK, he's a volume shooter to me, and the 1 or 2 games he played this year was more of the same. People thought the shooting would get better with better shooters around him, but this team can't shoot. He's just wasted $$ to me, $$ that could have gone to someone like Yaxel, Wilkerson, or even Wilson. Hope you guys get the most out of him, he's a fun player to watch and I wish we had him.
This is the Cal effect (and Shaedon Sharpe incident), but I feel like Lowe won't play again (or if he does, he will get hurt again, just like in the UofL game). I feel like JQ may not play either and instead save himself for the Draft.

They were full strength minus JQ against Georgetown and got dog walked in Rupp. They are not running the offense Pope knows how to coach because they don't have a player at the 5 position that they can run it through. So that is why we have guys just standing and dribbling the air out of the ball. There is way more going on with this team besides players being hurt. It is poorly constructed. None of the players complements each other.

Just the truth. Mark knew he would be without JQ till January, but once he came back, he would have a top 10-12 club. He wasn't counting on losing Lowe or Dioubate. But somehow poster on this board can expect UK to be the '96 squad despite being down 3 top players
