3 weeks in, and we are getting a clearer picture of who is who, this season.

Grimsley (3-0) is who everyone thought they were, loaded with players. Rewind just 5 years ago, and Grimsley looked like they always have for the past 80 years. The last 4 years have been remarkable, to say the least, but it looks like a completely different product, it seems unnatural. You could probably count on one hand how many kids who see playing time have lived in the district since kindergarten.

Many will say East Forsyth (2-1) is down, I'm not so sure about that, they're still loaded with talent. West Forsyth (2-1) kept it close with Grimsley, and bruised up Porter Ridge. The EF vs WF game will be good, once again.

Reagan (3-0), who just throttled Reidsville 35-0. Reidsville's (1-2) first shut-out loss in 394 games, got a big taste of what it's like to play some tough opponents, losing to Northern Guilford (2-1), who got beat soundly by East Forsyth, as well. Reagan did seem to have some problems with Oak Grove (2-1) and Mount Tabor (0-3).

Page (2-1) took an early lump against Charlotte Christian and has bounced back with big, game controlling wins against NW Guilford (1-2) and Mount Tabor (0-3). Two teams that have had Page's number recently. From the early eye test, Page looks to be the most improved team in the Triad.

Dudley (0-3) is feeling some heat from scheduling some tough opponents early too, and it doesn't get any easier with new rival NE Guilford (3-0) and old rival Page (2-1) coming up on the schedule soon.

NW Guilford (1-2) and Mt Tabor (0-3) have had some troubles early, losing to Page who was up 35-7 and 24-7, before both teams scored late against the Pirates.

Grimsley has been dominant for the last 7 years not 5. Many try to discredit but it's not a flash in the pan. 5 years ago they won thier first State championship of this run. 54 straight reg season wins, 1 loss in 7 years. It's the sustained dominance that gravitates all the players over there. It probably isn't going to slow down anytime soon considering how they look with a Freshman stepping in for the no.1 player in the country

This isn't a Grimsley hate thread, just my observation/opinion. That covid year was definitely lost in translation, imho.
