1000 yards rushing for Relf, Relf is a much improved passer, we won't miss Dixon, our running game will be good because we always have a good running game at MSU, Russell won't play much this year, we can't (and won't) run the offense with Russell....AM I MISSING ANYTHING COACH? Damn...you sure have proven that you know ABSOLUTELY NOTHING in record time.

FYI - It's just like I said. Relf winning the starting job was bad news b/c that meant that both QBs sucked. But at least Russell has shown some flashes.

Mullen isn't gonna come out the day after a game and say, "Well we are going to name Russell the starter for next week. Relf blew and no matter what happens during practice this week, we are going to go ahead and name our backup the starter for the rest of the season." Both guys had bad games. Yes Russell led the scoring drive, but he had 3 picks. Blame the O line, blame whoever, but while he was in the team had 3 picks. I would call a coach insane if after a game he names a backup that had 3 interceptions the starter unless the starter were hurt.

Give them the week to practice so Mullen can evaluate who bounces back from the LSU game. Relf will almost certainly start. But I would imagine Russell sees 1st half action against Georgia. I think Relf will be given a short leash this week and Russell will get his shot. </p>

We need to play to his strengths and use play action when he is throwing it other than the occasional short and intermediate routes.

which leaves Relf by default for the majority of the snaps. So which is it? Can you answer a question directly or will you be the ****** that you are and dodge it?

If it isn't running back, then that leaves QB or O-line when specifically talking about rushing. Well you can't blame the O-line b/c its the same o-line as last year. They just don't have Anthony Dixon running behind them. Maybe it wasn't Dixon's pure ability that made him great, but it was something he did. His mentality. His leadership. A combination of the sorts.

The diff in this year and last year is we don't have a guy that demands the football in 'go to' situations. Nobody has stepped up to that role yet. Play calling has been questionable at times but some of that is dictated by not having that 'go to' guy.

out of our running game, which is something else the drive chart clearly shows.

Hereare somerevealing facts about the man who appears to our best back: Ballard - 4.4 a carry for 101 yds. However, take out his 51 yd run vsmemphis and he has 50 yds on 22 carries.

If we line it up and run for 200+ yds vs UGA with the backs doing their part, then I'll comeback here and say "C34 is right, RB isn't a problem." Until that happens though, I'll continue to point out what appears to beobvious,that we simply don't have a go-to guy at the RB spot.

exactly what I was thinking...If Relf sucks it up in the first 2 drives, we will see Russell.

I remember you posting a drive chart that showed us failing to convert on a 3rd and 1; Getting a left footed spot to give us the 4th and a foot; getting stuffed on a first and 10; then getting 10 yards when LSU guessed pass; then throwing the pick. How did that clearly show that RB isn't the problem?

I'll say this for the 10th time now- we either need to commit to the run and be patient with Ralph, or we need to change the way we structure practice to more passing and play Russell. What we are choosing to do now is not working.

Fact- even with our play distribution Saturday, we are still 5 passes/game higher than we were thru 3 games last season

And with our talent level, I'm failing to see why being patient and controlling the football is a bad thing in SEC games?

I'm not blaming Russell- but you saw once we had him in the game and started to open it up what happened? They blitzed him to death and a disaster broke out

with the basic premise that we need to be a running team. I can only think of two reasons that we aren't:1. we don't have the backs to get it done; 2. there's an internalproblem we don't know about.

Our top 3 backs combined are averaging 4.16 yards per carry, Dixon averaged 5.4 (and would've been higher had he played vs JSU). Our entire team averaged an entire yard more per rush last year than we are to this point, and that's w/ a running threat at QB as opposed to having Tyson Lee last year.

Showing one drive chart to try and prove you're right is the typical cherry picking argument that you get from our resident idiot that is on Dawgstudent's payroll

Every time he's wrong on prediction after prediction, he always has a justification for it and says, "well if Mullen would do what I think he should then I'd be right." You ever think he might know what he's doing?

The answer is clear to me. There are SEVERAL people who post regularly here and who need a new obsession. Or a life. I would say 'if you disagree, just ignore all the threads or comments by Coach34', but that's been said multiple times by me and others, and it's clear some people just won't do that.

And before you say 'just ignore all the comments by the obsessed posters'... I have. Hundreds and hundreds of times. At some point, I just felt the need to get this out. JEESUS. The guy has an opinion, and is willing to tell the board what that opinion is. Most of the time he's right, sometimes he's wrong, but either way -- don't let it ruin your internet.

We'reclearly not running the ball as effectively as we didlast year,and we clearly are throwing it more effectively than last year (still plenty of room for improvement on that front, but not nearly as bad as last year was). Yet Coach is bitching that we'rethrowing about 5more passes per game.

I'd say he is probably below 50% with things that can be measure objectivley. Ala 30 tds and 30 ppg.

A lot of the time he has some real good takes on things. It's when he absolutely refuses to admit when he's obviously wrong and continues to defend the indefensible that things get funny.

But you're right that there are way too many people who get way too bent out of shape about him.

what about the rest? All you need to do is say, "as of right now, it appearsI was wrong". You'll go up several notches in a lot of people's books if you can just muster the guts to do that.I'm not holding my breath though.
