Spoken like a redneck who's never left his hometown except for an annual trip to Myrtle Beach. But I'm sure I'm way off base here.

Actually, Rick Perry made some cockamamy comment alluding to Texas's right to secede based on its unique history. That started the secession stroy.
WV is a mess. TN is a mess. IL is a mess. NY is a mess. TX is a mess. The list goes on. But California, for all its troubles is one cool state. Pretty much has it all. Heading to SF for golf next week. Love it out there.

Granted I was limited to LA, but there were a number of reasons why I had zero desire to remain there and raise a family there.
Their debt right now is 453 billion and they have 2.6 trillion GDP. I believe that puts them at a debt ration of 17 %. It isn't sustainable, just like our national debt.
