Nope because they didn't want any competition. They could play someone in the PD its up the street. Why schedule a doormat that you beat by 50 the year before in the playoffs as an OOD game? They don't have to play us I'm fine with our schedule.
Final , 41-0. Don't know why how or why they scheduled Huguenot, but I never heard of a firm offer from another local tidewater team for week 1, the only slot available. In week one the last years it has been Geensville and Brunswick, an absolutely lousy drive. A bunch of years ago we did start out with Courtland. Maybe with a 10 game season and playoffs that could be 5 more games the approach in game one is to tune up and not start to beat yourself up with injuries. I certainly would enjoy playing in game 1 Heritage- NN, Dinwiddie, chancellor, etc.
