It's still complicated with Armstrong/Henrico playing tomorrow.

1. Lafayette
2. Loudoun Valley
3/4. James Monroe/Poquoson (tied at 26.2, FLS says it will be tiebreaker #7 - opponent's avg. rating)

5-6-7: Kettle Run, John Champe, Armstrong (that order if Armstrong loses; I believe it would be Arm-KR-JC if Armstrong wins)

8/9. Skyline/Hopewell (tied at 23.3, believe Skyline wins tiebreaker with better record?)

10. York
11. William Monroe
12. Petersburg
13. Southampton
14. Warren County
15. Culpeper County

16. Colonial Heights/Huguenot/Warhill (tied at 18.0 - if Armstrong wins, CH picks up 1 point and would be 16th; If Armstrong loses, I believe Huguenot will win tiebreaker since they played an opponent who only had 9 games?)

Like I said, complicated and that's assuming I've done all the math correct, so take this with a grain of salt.

FLS Varsity has it...

16 Col. Heights/Warhill @ 1 Lafayette
8/9 Game is Hopewell/Skyline ( don't know where they are playing it)

13 Southampton @ 4 Poquoson
12 Petersburg @ 5 Kettle Run

15 Culpeper @ 2 Loudoun Valley
10 York @ 7 Armstrong

14 Warren County @ 3 JM
11 William Monroe @ 6 John Champe

this is assuming Armstrong loses to Henrico -- if Armstrong wins, they can go up to 5 or 6 and rearrange 5-7
Col. Heights gets in if Armstrong wins -- if not, Warhill should be in.

Justin at FLS does a good job with this stuff.

Pretty much the same, although I wonder about the 16 seed (unless I'm wrong on Huguenot's rating?). Seems to me that Huguenot would win tiebreaker D - Team played an opponent with an effective 9-game schedule ahead of any tiebreaker that would favor Warhill.

And I think the 8/9 game will be at Skyline.

If the team in question for Huguenot is George Wythe they played and won National Christian Academy out of Maryland. If this count how does it change the playoff picture?

Yes, they played that game, but it doesn't count in the VHSL ratings since NCA is a private school (same for teams that play Fork Union or Roanoke Catholic, etc). So, for VHSL rating purposes, GW only 'played' 9 games - it's tiebreaker D in section 68 of the handbook.

UNOFFICIAL Matchups

16 Huguenot/Colonial Heights/Warhill @ 1 Lafayette
9 Hopewell @ 8 Skyline

12 Petersburg @ 5 Kettle Run
13 Southampton @ 4 Poquoson

11 William Monroe @ 6 John Champe
14 Warren County @ 3 James Monroe

10 York @ 7 Armstrong
15 Culpeper County @ 2 Loudoun Valley
----
James Monroe wins tiebreaker with Poquoson (tiebreaker G - higher average rating of all opponents)

I believe that Huguenot will be the 16 seed due to tiebreaker D - played an opponent who only played 9 rating-scale recognized games (George Wythe)), but there is a 3-way tie for that spot right now.

Looks like Huguenot is coming to your place.
Nice draw for Lafayette this year. Looks like Kettle run is the stiffest competition in the draw until the cross bracket.

Thank- nice to play someone different than a Bay Rivers a 2nd time. My only request is to avoid JM until the final!

Pretty bold statement for post 13. I would say inconsistent more than overrated. Might be a distinction without a difference and end with same result.

Re: UNOFFICIAL Matchups

Gotta admit, that would be my request too. I would absolutely hate those guys if I was the Rams. Somehow, the Jackets seem to have their number. Don't know why that is or how it happens. The Rams are damn good. But when they play the Jackets, this is just not the same team. But this is 2014. GL to both.

Re: UNOFFICIAL Matchups

Yes...they should have lost to Culpeper. They are a lot better than Culpeper in general...but when you turn the ball over (9 times I think...they recovered 3..so 6 legit turnovers), it's amazing they didn't lose by 30+. You're not suppose to win games when you turn it over that much...but such is life for the Blue Devils the past, oh, 10 years or so
