I agree with your starters DS, although if Claudell stays cold, I also could see Clary starting at PG and letting Hub spot up without being pressured to handle PG duties.

And I feel really good with one of those guys plus Shawn Jones and Melendez off the bench. This has to be the deepest quality we've ever had 1-4.

Nothing has really separated Nwoko/Foumena/Chol yet, although Nwoko definitely looks more athletic around the rim so far. But if nothing else, we have 3 big bodies to put there and take up space and (hopefully) rebound.

I was wondering how long he was planning start Clary. Looks like not long at all. He's quick but tends to play out of control alot. I don't like Hubbard having to handle the ball so much if Clary isn't in there.

I think Melendez defends better than Kugel, but Kugel can create his shot off the dribble better.

As long as there’s not a matchup size problem Clary will start with Hubbard to allow Hubbard to be off the ball more.

Matthews and Hubbard are the only solid starters. I think everything else is pretty flexible.

Hubbard
Claudell
Murphy
Matthews
Kugel

I almost went Melendez over Kugel.
I like it, but Harris needs to start hitting some shots. He’s out there for one reason and 2-14 from 3 over the last two games isn’t gonna cut it. If not him, I’d probably put Jones out there for perimeter defense, and trust the other guys to do the scoring

I love Shawn Jones Jr. He's just a highlight waiting to happen. If we had a Ya Boy for basketball, he would be mine.

He's the most athletic guy we've had - talking pure athleticism - since who, Gholar? Zimmerman?

Hubbard, Matthews, Harris, Clary, Murphy, Kugel, Melendez, Jones, & Nwoko at a minimum are all going to get minutes and all of them may get some starts even in the SEC season. Jans is going to be able to play the best match-ups against specific opponents. Hubbard & Matthews could be the only real constant players on the floor and Matthews will always be limited because of foul trouble. Jans has a lot of shiny new toys available to him.

Been waiting two years for it. Most games, still waiting.

Jones definitely has "the look" of a guy who can make an explosive game-changing type play, at least until that kind of play is right in front of him to make. Then he dribbles it off his foot, or throws it away, or tries to avoid contact at the rim and misses the shot and doesn't get fouled, or clangs a wide open three, or drives too far under the basket to get a shot up.....
