And personally I think Wayne County could give South Panola a run for their money.

Starkville...

And I agree with you, but i think Noxubee County could give both of them a run for their money. They've outscored opponents something like 320-7 this year. That 4A matchup should be the big ticket in Jackson this year.

They've given up what... one or two touchdowns all season? That's impressive no matter who you're playing. It's amazing they don't have at least a couple of plays were the defense just completely blew it and left a guy uncovered or something stupid. I mean, it's high school football - you expect mistakes like that to happen.

They've given up one touchdown ALL SEASON... that it... 42.8-0.8 is their average margin of victory this season... I've seen Noxubee play a couple of times in person, then the game tapes that we have back at the station... and they might be the best high school football team I've ever seen (granted, I'm not that old and I've only seen football in Oklahoma and Mississippi)... but the 7 they gave up was in the 4th quarter against New Hope (playoff team), on what the coach told me was a busted coverage... said guy still had a chance to make a play but he slipped... other than that, 7 shutouts in 8 games... that is unheard of... I would pay good money to see a "plus one" game in Jackson... South Panola and Noxubee...

I think that would be the best showcase of Mississippi high school football. Noxubee's "Air It Out" offense vs. South Panola's" Grind It Out " offense. Would be the irresistible force meets the immovable object.

Murrah v. Lawrence County all over again. Raise your hand if you pay per viewed that one!!! My hand is raised.

Seriously, I hope the championship games are televised again b/c I want to see Noxubee/WC badly but I don't want to sit in the cold.

I'm biased, but I think Madison Central should be one of the top 100 (Preparing to be flamed). But, MC beat a great Tupelo team on the road- the same team that USP barely beat. I don't think that MC could beat USP, Noxubee County, or Wayne County, but I beat they could give Meridian a run for their money.

Lived in Monticello back then. Great game. Somewhere I have a program with Othella Harrington, Vandale Thomas and Eric Dampier's signatures (and Michael Rubenstien's for some reason).

reckoned with. After the split that became Ridgeland and Madison Central it took some time for MC to get back to the top. And Hall has done a good job. They are contenders and no one really is giving them that much attention. Yeah, ....I am biased. See them enough to know they are really GOOD.

Better than that, .... Hell the team is mostly Jrs and Sophs!!! Things are looking up again in Madison County.

They play in Division 2-5A, which is and always has been the black hole of 5A football. How can you really know how good Madison Central is when they really haven't played anybody other than Tupelo and Picayune, and only went 1-1 in those games? The good news for them is, for a change, there are only 3 decent teams in Divison 1-5A, so they'll get an easy 1st round playoff game and then they'll get Tupelo/Olive Branch at home in the second round. I expect they'll face South Panola in the semi-finals.

If I'm not mistaken, wouldn't that be the same Friday as the Eggbowl? If so, I bet a lot of people would drive over for that game.

you have D'Iberville (who likely has as much team speed as anyone in the State); Picayune (only losses: Oak Grove (OT) and D'Iberville last night due to 5 turnovers in the 2nd Half alone; brother was there (his season ended last week)...said D'Iberville should have won 63-7); St.Stanislaus (Favre now holds the State Single season Passing TD Record at 43 scores)
