I'm used to expecting a 5'9" scatback running through a hole in the middle of the fieldyou could push Roseanne Barr on a wheel barrow through....this guy reminds me more of an LSU or USC commit...tall, legit speed, great hands, sticks out like a sore thumb amongst the players. I hope this guy stays committed....

is that Carr's videos last year were the same way. I still don't know how that guy was rated a 3 star. He may have been the best player we signed last year. I really hope they give him a fair shake on offense. I know he's tailor made for the safety position, but sometimes you just have to let a guy like that handle the ball.

I try not to be biased, or say with maroon colored glasses, but MC was in my eyes the best high school player in the state......followed closely by the dude from hollendale......i love watching videos, and a i saw Mc play in person, and dude will play in the first quarter of our first game, and be good.....if he qualifies....

I just had a flash back to 2004 and Derek Pegues.

As far as his stars, I think he was a "victim" of committing early, sticking to it, and not having an attention ***** press conference.

I don't think he's a safety. I think he's a WR. I also think he starts on day 1 for us. I'm not worried about Dan figuring this out. We're not going to waste him like we did Tony Burks.

LSU has none. Seems like the coast rats are developing some state pride/identity.

I think two things about the coast:

1. State and Ole Miss are paying more attention to players there that play at schools not named Moss Point.

2. LSU is fairly unstable right now in terms of their coaching. Crowton is on borrowed time and is a likely scapegoat candidate. If you're a guy like Joe Morrow, if you go there, you have no idea who their OC is going to be or what kind of offense that they are going to run. And I haven't even mentioned Les Miles. Yeah, he may go 10-2 and stay on board, but even a 7-5 season and he's probably toast. They don't care that he won a NC there. Right now, the odds are pretty good that he's going to be gone after this year. So, again they don't know who is going to coach there next year, much less four years from now.

You may want to just watch the state championship game from last December. It really wasn't close--best athelete in the State and best player last year.

I go down there a good bit to hit the casinas. The coast has always had a sizable louisiana ****** carnie element, but ever since katrina, it seems much more prevelent. I honestly feel like I have hit slidell when I get about ten miles from the beach. Kinda sad.

Enter the daily Rebel who comes here who tries to "bring us all back down to earth" by giving his side of the story.

WTF do we care what you think about a MSU recruit?

Having Rebels on this board is like the "other side of the story" jackasses in the media.

We don't need or want your side of the story when it comes to MSU recruits.

He was the best player on a team that won the 5A State Title. He was Dandy Dozen. He stood out in the MS all-star game. He has great video. Who do you think was the best player in the state last year?

and he was one of the best, if not THE best, in the state. Like Jim Ross says, "He may not be on the list by himself, but it doesn't take long to call the roll."

And yes, he didn't get offered because he committed to us in like February and told everybody else no. I know this, guy. You don't. Don't comment if you don't know **** about the subject matter, it makes you look like an idiot rebel sheep. Which you probably are anyway.

but the statement wasn't "he may have been the best player in the state." The statement was "he was the best player in the state and it wasn't even close." There are about 10 players, including a few that signed with MSU, that a lot of SEC coaches thought a lot higher of than Carr, but what the hell do they know. And again, the party line of " he would have had more offers but he committed so early" just doesn't hold any water.

but if you want to go with who was actually the best player in HS MS last year, it's got to be Carr or Favre. Maybe Nick Parker or Nick Griffin.

If you want to pick who projects best in college, well, nobody effing knows that, so again rebel law is talking out of his ***. But I'd go with Damein Robinson, Carlos Thompson or Carr here too. Maybe the Dickson guy that went to LSU.

his early, unwaveringcommitment to MSU, very little video from his junior year due to an injury, no camp exposure in the summer, and his questionable academic standing. I can't think of anyone who was clearly better. Maybe Matthew Wells. Carlos Thompson had hype due to the recruiting battle between State and OM, but his legs are as skinny as Dee Bost's.

And I agree when you say you can't think of anyone clearly better but on the flip side, I certainly don't think he was clearly better than any other player in MS. Going strictly by offers, he clearly wasn't the most sought after recruit in MS. I understand he committed early, blah blah blah, but you can pick out any top recruit who commits early and I promise you, other schools don't just throw in the towel and say "oh well, he is going to X". They still get the offers. I would say Singleton, Brassell, and Arrington are 1A, 1B, and 1C headed into their senior seasons but they could put up disappointing seasons. Now I'm sure Goat will explain to me how Rufus Warren is really the best player in the state and he knows him.

but MC was always an MSU fan, and was very vocal about it......teams didnt recruit him more for 1.(the main reason) he ranks up there with Jerrell Powe in academic exellence 2). he wasnt going anywhere else.

im sure a few benjamins could have changed his mind, if the guys didnt want to take the chance on a probable non qualifier interfering with the recruitment of over high profile WR they would be recruiting that would qualify

shocker, i know

just said yourself that he could have been one of the top players in the state last year, so how hard is it to believe that SOMEONE might think he was?

Again, the "he didn't have offers because people knew he was going to MSU" or were worried about him qualifying is just complete nonsense. Saban isn't going to not offer a kid that he thinks is good enough because the kid grew up liking another school.
