40 Second Clock For IL HS games?

Being looked at right now. If a school doesn't have a play clocks installed, (which most do not) I could see this turning into 50/55 seconds between plays.

Some teams are slow enough leave it alone. I would only agree to it if it starts when the player is tackled and not when the ball is set. Some crews take way too long to set the ball. Especially when teams are trying to do hurry up.

With most teams running no huddle, I don't see the benefit.

We have a tough enough time getting the clock guys to start and stop the main clock appropriately as is. I cant see this going well when they have to reset and start when signaled to do so every play. You also lose the transgression of the white hat when to blow in the play clock. There will be many more delay of games as a result. I voted against this in the post season NFHS survey.

Won't happen. Schools can't afford the clocks plus operators. Remember if becomes a rule, it would happen at all levels.
