Was in 4th grade I guess and they wheeled the TV into the classroom for all of us to watch. I had never seen a shuttle launch before so had no idea what was happening.
Same...I think most of us around that age were in the same situation. Watching on TV and not fully understanding how very bad it was.

At Penn State at our apartment on University Drive (Now called Lexington House Apartments).

For whatever reason, it was on our little TV live. Said to myself, "that was strange.........."

8th grade English class. Knew the launch was happening and some classes were watching in the library. Asked to be excused to bathroom. Went to library room instead. Got in the room just in time to see launch and explosion. Went back to class and told Mrs., Capps, and she did not believe me. Took us all to the library to see it after convinced her. Lots of tears in that room that day.

I was at Hills Shopping Center in State College getting new tires for my first car.
Saw the awful news on the tv in the tire store. Drove home and told my mother. We sat together in silence.

I was watching the launch on TV in the packed Sitting Bull Lounge at Okemo Mountain, Vermont. We were having a huge "Demo Days" and most of the Mid-Atlantic and New England reps from the leading ski equipment companies were there. It was a very festive affair --- until we all realized what had happened and what we had just seen. Suddenly there was silence other than the sound of an occasional sob. It was a moment in time that I will never forget. I get emotional just thinking about that day even 40 years later.

Watching at home on a snow day. We had an assembly planned to watch it because one of my teachers was a finalist for the Space Shuttle program and trained with Christa McCauliffe.
It’s like we in the same school. Same for me, south of Pittsburgh, one of our fifth grade teachers had done all of the training down and Alabama.

I was in my second year of employment after graduating with a BS ChE from Penn State, working as a process engineer at the DuPont refinish paint plant in Front Royal, VA. I had just gone down to the plant cafeteria for lunch when news of the Challenger explosion broke. Sadly, DuPont Viton(r) was used in the o-ring seal that failed on the solid rocket motor (though the o-rings were made by Morton-Thiokol).

Wife and I waiting for our flight at Philadelphia airport - watching it live with many stopping to see history, then quiet (other than people walking to their gates, not knowing) thinking our plane and the flight will be safe. Just not believable at that time, that day.

High School cafeteria in line buying lunch. First announcement came over and said the mission was aborted(exact words from our dipshit principal), then he came back on a few minutes later and announced it exploded.

They are all special in their own way. It's hard to pick one that is a favorite. Mostly had cabriolet's. The thing I like about Porsche's are they are meant to be driven as everyday cars. Many other high tech sports cars don't do well as a daily driver. 2 of my fav pics below

My buddy used to own Ferrari of Atlanta. He would love to say there is a lot of money in racing. I know because I put it there.
Or just do what the Whittington Bros, John Paul and Randy Lanier did back in the day... filled their haulers with marijuana and cocaine and as they went race to race in their haulers across the country delivered their product and received fat wads of cash at the race track.

5th year senior at PSU, was in our apartment in Beaver Hill. One of my roommates came in and said “The space shuttle just blew up”. Just sat and watched the coverage for the rest of the day.

I was in 6th grade. My class was going to watch it but something happened and we weren't able to that day. Then we got news that it was probably best we didn't get to see it live.
